Jose Baez..defense atty for fla girl in suicide case

Defense atty just finishing up an appearence on fox news regarding the awful suicide case in Fla.

He made a point that Sherrif Grady needs to stick within the scope of his job. It struck me as a valid point as I recalled one of our Fla Pelicans (Ury I think) mentioning that Sherrif Grady 'never saw a camera he didn't like'.

I despise what these girls did and think parents need to pay much better attention to their kids behaviour but I have to admit Baez caused me to stop and think just a bit. Not so much that the girls were less guilty but that we need to be aware of the power the state can bring to bear against us on a whim.

Well those girls actions did lead to the death of another little girl. I think there is a lot of blame to go around here. Both the girls and their parents need to face some consequences for what happened. I also wonder about the parents of the girl who died. I know that if my little girl was so depressed that she was thinking of killing herself I would probably at least have some idea that something was wrong. Not saying that I would have known everything but at least enough to dig into it and find out the details. A terrible situation all around.

Do you think there is some kind of government conspiracy that he is the mouthpiece for, or is it just him enjoying face time in front of the cameras?

Grady is a hard nose, no-BS Sheriff that likes to talk. He calls local radio shows and appears on TV whenever he can. And the public loves it. He goes after on-line hookers and chat room pedophiles and makes arrests.

I saw a brief segment with Baez discussing the case and he said it was the other girl (who he is not representing) who is guilty of the allegations - not his client. He stated that both of them are being linked together with all the allegations. he could be right - the media doesn't really care about facts as much as the stink they raise.

Regarding a law enforcement presence in the media - the Daytona Beach police chief as of 2006 - Mike Chitwood, has a regular segment on a local AM station every Friday afternoon where he answers questions from callers and engages in discussion of local issues. He's very good at his job and represents law enforcement very well. I really enjoy those radio segments when I can hear them. There's no BS - just good info and interesting back stories you can't get from the regular media.

Public employee unions as well as individuals representing them should stay out of politics and stay off the telly once an arrest has been made.

They unduly push their biased opinions on the Sheeple. Most can tell the difference but the minority are ones that get on the jury. Let the facts speak for themselves. The ones with agendas should STFU and the media should have a muzzle on speculative news rumors.

The UK has a news blackout after an arrest has been made. About the only thing that makes sense over there.

Grady also will go on the air a warn the bad guys, "If you come in to Polk County and think you're going to get away with it, well you're not. We're gonna get you."
