almost bought this one...the seller accepted my offer of 55K on it. house was completely made of stone, with all of the wiring embedded in cement. cement walls, cement floors, cement everything. doesn't do well with Indiana humidity. I backed out when I realized that the walls would have always weeped in the summer...and it would be like a damp, cold castle in the winter.

here's my house in indy. just under 3000 sq ft, craftsman style. here's my dining room. the next picture is a 1400 sq ft dance club that I built in the house...for my once-a-year crazy party

Wow! That's still there, too. My house was one block behind on Largo Drive, right on the Bay. The man who originally placed it there was named Harry Gowens and was the unofficial "mayor" of P-beach. He was into auto salvage for many years and had several interesting houses up and down Santa Rosa Island including this one. His A-frame examples were the most prominent although I think all but one now has been destroyed by one of the several hurricanes which devastated the island over the last few decades. That was a great place to grow up. |
