That was Jim Morrison. Jimi died in Notting Hill, United Kingdom.

My fav. JH album has always been "The Cry of Love". I can still remember listening to the 8 track of it at Main Street (our slang term for the end of Flagler Avenue - our main street on the island) while checking the surf one morning.....and thinking about how every song on that album is so unreal. Another local long-haired surfer Rodney Nelson was with me - I don't remember whose vehicle we were in - I guess it doesn't matter. Those were some special times...

I frequent YouTube from time to time browsing for out takes or studio versions of certain artists. I found a pretty cool one recently from this album....
