Favorite beverage with a cigar?

First off: TOBACCO BAD OK? BAD! BAD! BAD!!!

Now that we got that over with, before I got married I would enjoy a nice cigar.

Long story short wife goes out of town a few times a year... and I indulge... wife is out of town this weekend.

Last night on my way home from work I stopped into a small tobacco shop and found they have a nice selection.

So my evil plan is to stop by on my way home from work today... grab a ceegar... maybe a steak/onions/mushrooms... and a beverage.

I have been leaning more toward red wine/port (will match the steak)

However at times I have gone with sipping a scotch/whiskey/cognac.

So the question is... what is YOUR favorite beverage to have with a cigar?

Thanks!

You forgot beer.

Cigar + beer for me. I know it's not posh but I find it enjoyable.

First choice is always scotch, but I do throw in an occasional port (and does go with the steak), or cognac just for variety

I can only stand a few puffs of a cigar. The beer gets the taste out of my mouth.

"Higgs" nailed it: Scotch is the only civilized choice
My choice - The Macallan & an Arturo Fuente Hemingway & Yeah I admit - my wife would also have to be out of town before I indulged!

Cheers

I'm not civerlaazzed.

That being said: any drink can be paired with the right cigar, and vice versa.

I prefer a number of light sticks with differnt types of tequila.

Favorite combo: dark/amber Octoberfest beer with a Perdomo Oktober

I have a coffee/porter in the fridge but I don't want to share it with a cigar either.

A nice Hefeweizen on the other hand...
