Looking for old records (78's, shellac, vinyl)

Hi!

I am looking for old records that are slated to be thrown out or just sitting in the closet collecting dust and you don't know what to do with them. This also applies to your friends and family. Any genre would be okay.

Ideally, I am not looking to really buy the records and in fact, if they are scratched beyond playing, that would be even better! I'd be happy to pay shipping. The records are going to be re-purposed, but will never be played again. I'd really rather not say what I am going to do with them at this point, but I think some will like the finished product.

Check local thrift stores. We used them for decoration when I was in HS and could find more 78s than we knew what to do with, but 45s were hard to come by as I recall. I'll see if we still have any.

David gave a great suggestion. Go to the used record stores and see if I can get their toss-outs. I really don't need them to be playable. And since I have no idea where this is going to go, as close to free as I can get would really help.
