I loved the movies, and by all accounts he was a good guy. RIP.

Jus wondering: How fast did the driver have to go to end up like this? Over 100 MPH?

News reporting "mechanical failure"...I think not. All one has to do is look at the destruction of the car; broken in half, to know this was caused by excessive speed and hitting a lamp post and tree.

You are right.
The crash damage and result is quite obvious.

The true situation, even the driver of the car, has still not been disclosed by the media.
Funny how it works that way.
Everything other than the truth is pure emotional hype.

Whatever caused the change in trajectory has yet to be determined.

Sad. He seemed like a good guy, and we liked the movies, goofy as they were.

Imagine the howls if it had been a Tesla.

How old do you think the tires were ?

How old are yours ? These tragedies are only worth dwelling on if we use them as examples.

Be safe.
