Gmail message to change browser

I keep getting this message on my gmail home screen now:

You are using a version of Internet Explorer which Gmail no longer supports. Some features may not work correctly. Upgrade to a modern browser, such as Google Chrome. Dismiss

Seriously? Gmail can't support IE9? I don't want to use IE10, which creates problems with a website I use for work and I don't want to switch to Google Chrome. Any way to kill this recurring message?

You don't have to switch browsers. You could always install chrome or Firefox, and just use that for Gmail.

Just curious; why don't you want to switch to Chrome? It's far better than IE...

Use either chrome/firefox for email, multiple browsers can exist on the same system. I actually use two versions of Chrome at the same time, Chrome and Canary....

Or set up an email client like Outlook or Thunderbird for your email.

I use Firefox and Safari for Gmail. Lots of times I'll have both of them running at the same time, looking at mail on different Gmail addresses.

I have IE, Mozilla, and Chrome on my laptop, though I only use Mozilla and Chrome.

I tried (Lord, how I tried) to do the Chrome thang but Google just couldn't get it together. Gave up and moved back to Firefox, which lets you sync across devices nicely.

There are plugins for managing multiple Gmail accounts, too. Pretty slick.

Yep, I'm a fan of Firefox too.

If you have websites that don't work correctly in Firefox, but they do work in ie, then you can add the Firefox plugin IE Tab (or ie tab+) and then use the IE rendering engine inside Firefox to open most webpages.

I use Firefox for one gmail account and IE for the other. I suppose I could use Chrome if I had to, but I don't like being jammed into it by Google.

Once you get it set up, you'll wonder how you ever lived without it.

I like Chrome but I hate how it does the bookmarks. Why can't you just have a drop down menu like IE does? Don't like how it forces you to banner your first 3-4 bookmarks across a toolbar. Also it does not work with LogMeIn. Otherwise it's great.
