15 games because it was a retribution for an earlier incident (and that is with consideration that he has never been suspended in 11 years).
The B's play rough but that was was over the line. Orpik deserved to be pounded but not that way.
I figured 10 games was what he'd get but I agree that it needed to be severe to send a message.

Cue all the Bruins haters to dance and cheer. Let the gloating begin.

Not a Bruin hater at all. Philly yes, B's no. :D But I do luv the sport.

I wouldn't call that a clean hit.

Eriksson never had possession of the puck. If he did I would be inclined to agree with you.
The pass was a long way behind him and looked to be more of a clearing attempt than a pass in my opinion.

I bet Orpik's day is still coming..

Thornton's suspension is reasonable all things considered.

Edit: I saw another angle on the hit and it wasn't as dirty as it appeared on most of the replays. Eriksson did touch the puck and it was a terrible pass that left him vulnerable to a nasty hit.

Yup all that Billy. Someone wrote here I think that the guy that made the pass should have gotten their ass kicked! And that's my whole point that a clean but brutal hit needs retribution?

My friend Gary has (correctly) upheld the suspension. I suspect within the next seven days we will be informed that the neutral arbitrator has been called on to make his first ruling.
