How does that country song go?...."everyone wants to go to heaven, but no one wants to go now". Glad you held off the reaper! |

Go get a lottery ticket, on second thought you may have already won the lottery. Very glad for the positive outcome.

well someone must have said..
let's go.. most often folks just say 'heartburn' and the spouse .. screams Harry won't get up the next day... this event seldom end's well.. as there is little time and only a few things can be done in the field.. the further one is from the OR table... the less likely your gonna eat at one a few days later.. Good for you! Abdominal or thoracic? Endovascular repair?
|
Wow, scary stuff. Glad to hear you made it through.
|
I'm really glad you pulled through Wilhelm, I hope you enjoy the Holidays with your family.
|
Well done sir, now we fully expect no further scary news from you for a long long time.

Happened to a friend of mine last summer, he was at the cottage, bent over to pick up something and he felt a pop. He noticed pain and overall knew something was wrong. By the time he got diagnosed the doctors said he was lucky to be alive.
He made a full recovery started DE's again and made instructor this past summer. He has a different outlook on life now and is thankful to be alive. I hope you have a speedy recovery. |
Cheers, Wilhelm. I'm thinking each new day looks pretty damn good to you right now!
Merry Christmas |
Holy schnarkies. Take care of yourself. That's pretty lucky it was caught as you know.
|
Glad you made it! Use your time wisely :)

Sorry for neglecting my own thread for a while !
Thanks everyone for all the good wishes. I had a couple Doctor appointments today and everything is looking good. Except blood pressure is a little high but not extreme. The Docs are adjusting the medication to bring that down a bit. The "chronic, uncontrolled hypertension" was the cause of my problem according to the Docs. Oh, that and years of smoking ! Good news is I havent had a smoke since November 2. And I have no plans to go back to that. Someone on here was asking about how the Aortic dissection was diagnosed. I know in the ER they did an ultrasound and then an MRI or CAT scan I believe. I dont actually remember any CAT scan or MRI since I was knocked out with some pain medication but I later found out about the scan. What caused me to call 9-1-1 was sudden severe chest pain and difficulty breathing. I assumed it was a heart attack. Thanks again for all the nice thoughts. And Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to everyone. Looks like I will make one more Christmas and New Year ! Go me !! |
