Surprising customer service at MSFT store
I bought a new Lenovo Yoga ultrabook at the MSFT store in Seattle back in May. I was under the impression that I had purchased both their 2 year support and Office at the time. Under the impression because that was the discussion with the rep during a sale they were running.
Life got busy, I didn't like the machine but missed the no ?'s asked return window by a day. Life got really busy, I moved to Spokane and tried to live with the machine. It developed this annoying all cooling fans on all the time condition and sounded like a jet engine taking off in a quiet space. I went in yesterday and talked to one of the blue shirt guys. No receipt in hand. We turn the machine on and he says, I hear it, that isn't right. A few minutes with the manager and looking up my receipt and he comes back and says, it doesn't look like you bought the extras in May but we were running a sale then and it sounds like there was miscommunication with the staff. We'll exchange the machine, install office and move your data over. We want you to be happy. I am ![]()

Looks like MSFT copped yet another move from Apple....good customer service. Just kidding really; it is refreshing to hear when people do the right thing by their customers, especially after reading the horror stories on the car dealership maintenance rip off thread.
