Unhappy The last place on earth you should ever go for a burger.

So, I go to a demo-day at the Harley dealer... just for free lunch and to watch for airmen getting a little too friendly with some of the 1%'ers who regularly show up.

Then BAM! From out of left field I somehow end up buying a Vrod.

....go figure.

Can you say "interesting phone call with the wife????

Your hair certainly seems to be thinning out enough to join the Harldey brigade. Nice ride.

Weird - I drove by a Harley dealership today and saw a Sporster I truly thought about making a U-turn for. I didn't go as far as you, though - congrats!

So what's a 1%'ers?

My hair is thinning out... thanks for reminding me.

It's getting bad enough to make me read though the 5 million pages of the recent "losing hair" thread.

DD,
These are 1%'ers.

...bad guys...

I see.

So how do you explain such a surprise purchase to the wife? I ask only in case I do the same thing concerning that Sporster (or whatever else might catch my eye).

Nice bike Leland. I was living in Milwaukee as it was being developed and tested. The locals were VERY suspect of this new 'Ricer' they were going to be building.

Ancient history now. All it took was one ride to win people over.

Great choice. I sir, am green with envy.

Reminds me of the couple I saw the other day on a brand new Sportster with stock pipes, wearing earplugs.

Nice machine! I would love to have a Harley Davidson, my favorite is a low rider or a soft tail. That thing must be pretty fast, no?

...and...she said...

Very nice. Guy up the street has offered up his Sportster to me a couple times...once more and I may just cave. Have to wait until a few more folicles are rendered impotent.

Should I remind you that I thought you just bought another motorcycle, a BMW cruiser just a few days ago?

Did the deal fall through? Cannot believe you have gone to the "dark side" of the force....

That said, take it to Germany and when you PCS out you can sell it for more than what you paid for it over there.

Went for a ride today and because Victor had to make fun of my thinning hair. I was forced to don a Jaggermiester beenie before my buddy took this photo.

Yesterday I was too excited to get the "I'm a hardass" pose. But today, after much practice, I found it was possible to muster the "dirtbag on a hog" look.

The bike is an '05 VRSCA. It had 6 miles on it when I signed the papers. I looked at this one two months ago and the dealer wouldn't budge from the $17,600 asking price.

Yesterday, he told me he could make a good deal ( I didn't think he actually would). I said "give me an offer I can't refuse"... ...and he did.

His cost: $14,468.

Leland Paid ... ...$14,468. And I got a free alarm system and a T-shirt!
