On the off chance that it's a euro car, the engine alone is worth more than a nice USA car. The bumperettes tell nothing since USA '74 911s had the small ones. One year only here, '74-'89 everywhere else.

What a beeeee atch this was retrieving. A month later, I got it out , dragged it down his street with no brakes, loaded it on my trailer , and it is home.
I got out the pressure washer, and de loused it . Inside and all, it was filthy. Like I assumed, very rusty. On every bump I hit on the way home , I could see baby poo yellow paint flakes flying off the car .
. Of course, all the brakes were stuck, I had planned for this, however, the one thing I had not planned for was the parking brake being stuck, and oh boy indeedie was it ever. I ended up having to bash in the rear rotor hats with a sledge, to get the thing to roll ( not proud ) . They pulled the parking brake on in 1994 when they parked it.
It was a schweet car back in its day.

Geebus, Fred, have the mice been at that left rear quarter? But congrats on getting it home.

Awesome story! At least it's in capable hands now, so while it may be a ton of work to bring it back to life, at least it has a viable chance now.

I'd love to have the same opportunity. For me it was a cream-coloured 356 with red interior, my sister's friend's dad's car.

Oh, and did I mention earlier, that they were gay lovers?
My father and I moved two garbage bags of gay porn out of the garage where this car was stored. The front trunk was filled with it also. I have seen images that will disturb my thoughts forever.
I feel dirty, and want a shower.

I've got a very open mind, but I'd probably be disturbed by those images as well, not to mention two trash bags and a trunk full.
Just think what it did to your dad, being from a different era and all. Oy!

Did you say it was too far gone or are you going to try and save it? Now that you've got it home what's the diagnosis?

What a cool car, and a cool story also...except for the magazine part that is.

Looks like a real project. Great mid-70's color. Does the motor turn?

I have not tried to turn the motor yet, but have little faith. The top of the gas tank rusted through, that is how bad this car is.
Not really sure if I will save it or not. It is very rusty, everywhere I look, I find holes. There are rust holes in places that I have never seen a 911 rust before.
I'm super busy with life right, now, I'm just going to warehouse it till the end of the season, and then get it in, and see what I have got. I'm not very optimistic about it however.
