Funny alright. I could picture you cussing about those rotten white people after some scenario's...LOL. Picture the remote possibility that the next time you visit a party sober in a Chiva'go suburb, you mistakenly get shot by a half drunk on duty cop (oh lets have some fun and call it a transsexual mixed race cop) or driving your car and get hit by a half drunk cop. Cheers to the Union's! |
A friend got hired by the city water co, basically a road crew detail. When he was first hired, he was the digger, that's all he could do. The truck driver drove the truck, that's all he was allowed to do. Etc, etc. They had 3-5 on a team and each had his job and no one would help the others because it wasn't their job. He's in a hole digging and the others would be standing around bsing cuz it wasn't their job to help. Union rules. It took them forever to get shyte done but they got paid good wages. What a rip for the city and the taxpayers.

never worked union but in the automotive repair field everyone was union before dealer got car steelworkers, assemblers, shippers etc.. all we got in dealer life was warranty and no pay standard between dealers so was better to be union than in independant dealer life. they are retired. mechanics or technicians still working and had to buy all those tools. plus deal with all those unrealisic repair times and cheap dealers.

Then there was the illegal gambling ring that one guy was so wrapped up in he kept telling his wife the plant wasn't paying him- until she called and found out the plant has been paying him just fine. there was a psychopath that worked there that was fired 26 times (?)- the union kept getting his job back. Finally got killed off doing something stupid like threatening management or assaulting someone- something like that. She had someone threaten to kill her- I think it was the 26X fired guy, and she was truly worried for her life. If you worked too fast, people would smash and destroy your tools whilst on break. Rings and pinions would routinely fly through the air, at various people. Sounds like a Union utopia... |
Thank you for the post written by the union black 73. I believe this thread is about the union, not the worker. Where a worker is mentioned, it's because they are a bum and the union protected them.
As a long time negotiator, I will tell you there are three parties in any negotiation - the company, the union, and the worker. In almost every negotiation, I've seen the union trade things that would have benefited the worker for things that benefited the union. Criminal really. |

Why wouldn't the union protect the kid's pay rate instead of extorting $ out of him?
What they are demanding doesn't make any sense. They should have calculated his pay rate and factored in their charges and realized it doesn't help the kid before making their demands. I bet they don't even realize how much he makes and the economic turmoil their demands would create. It's simple math. How could this be good for anyone? They should have just sent him their business card and an offer of support for him as a new worker in the USA in case he needs anything....no charge! That would be helping instead of the negativity they created. Doesn't anyone use common sense anymore? That is really really stupid......how do they expect any worker to react when they expect them to lose money on the job. Wow.........this should be illegal. It's like robbery. As well as stupidity..... |

Terrible strategy to win over the work force. Very ignorant approach.... |

Better Yet, why don't the minimum wage/non-benefits workers start a movement to de-certify the union. If the Union claims its purpose is to protect the worker, the Union, in this case, is not doing that. It is simple math for that class of worker. Minimum wage workers opt out, UNLESS the minimum pay rate is at least Minimum Wage plus the Union Dues. If not that, de-certify.

Yes I agree , and that's one of the examples I'd bring up as far as where they are useful and needed. Another where big cities and other municipalities, in order to save a few $$, attempt to close stations and cut back on staffing apparatus sufficiently which is a serious safety issue . But on the other hand, I despise when that same union protects some POS that deserves to be fired or punished for a legitimate issue. |
And it seems Black 73 is arguing against something that no one suggested. Hating union workers. No one hates union workers. The issue here is the unions themselves. Regardless of union membership, a slacker is a slacker and doesn't deserve their job. Especially when there are hard workers waiting in line to "earn" their paycheck.
Not only have you arbitrarily twisted this discussion into a racist scenario (which it is not), but also misrepresented the premise of this discussion. We are not in PARF, please don't push it there. Sheesh. |
