Shaun 84 Targa is a Good Guy!
All,
I needed a cruise control module for my 1987 Carrera, and put up a WTB thread. Shaun 84 Targa not only had one, he sent it to me free of charge. That's a class act. We do a lot of sniping here on Pelican in the OT and (especially) PARF sections, so I wanted to make a special effort to give a shout out for a very nice gesture by a fellow Porsche guy. Those of us on Pelican may not always (or ever) agree on everything here in the electronosphere, but I think just about everyone here is a terrific person in real life. Terry |
No doubt, he is one of the good guys.
Shaun is one of those people that 5 minutes after you meet him it feels like you've been friends forever. |

I have a lot of time for Shaun. He is one of the good ones!
|
nice!!!!
|
No he's not
|
Up to his usual tricks again eh?
He is a top shelf gentleman. |
I had a "lead" on a Triumph TR-6 last year and Shaun and Mark (Buckterrier) not only voulunteered to check it out but did so with a full report and recommendation (to pass...which I did)...far beyond anything I expected. Then, after two refusals of a bottle of Macallan scotch, I proceeded to drink it myself!
There is no other testament to a good guy (or two)...especially when the result is a nice bottle of Scotch going down my gullet! Yes sir Corgi...we may disagree on lots of things over on PARF, but we agree on this one. |
Good? Hardly! He's one of the best. Shaun is consistently giving with no expectation of receiving anything in return.
|
Had dinner with him a few times. An upstanding citizen for sure.
I understand the political discourse, but when it comes to insults, I just don't get it. I've met dozens of Pelicans and every meeting has been great. |
I look forward to meeting him at some point. I enjoy his posts. cheers shaun!

I think one of the reasons you are known across the board as a gentleman yourself, Hugh, is that you have met so many of us. As for what Shaun did, I'll pay it forward whenever I can. Though most of my Porsche parts are currently fully assembled as my '87.;) Terry |
Yes, he really is!
|
I'd like to meet him in person.
I'll give him a chance. Up to now, he's made countess comments about me and to me that didn't sit well at all. Just being honest... |
Shaun is awesome! I can say the same for soooooo many Pelicans here! Too many to count!
|
Shaun? A good guy? Hmmmmm, let me think about that...
:D :D :D |
I couldn't agree more! Shaun is a top notch guy. :)
|
I, for one, shorely do be amplified by meetin' up with his acquaintancehood.
|
Thank you Terry, completely unnecessary, it's not like I sent you my RSR speedometer. Honestly, it's fun giving stuff away, I get as much as I give, for example when I went to look at Mike's prospective TR6, I got to have breakfast with my good friend Mark (buckterrier) which was great and as a side note, the best corned beef hash, I, or you, will ever have, so it's for completely selfish reasons. And as you noted, it's contagious. The world needs more random acts of kindness, just because.
And thank you everyone above, it's an honor to know, whether in person or digitally, all of you.SmileWavy |
The factory front pan in '065 came to me through Shaun!
