Where is the Outrage?
Washington Nationals' Adam LaRoche Kills Mountain Lion, Poses with It
Wow, yet another celeb killing a lion, and no one seems to have anything to say about it. No petitions on change.org to banish him from baseball, no hand-wringing ninnies sniveling about it - nothing. Is he too ugly? Is the cat not "majestic" enough? Why is this so different than the "botoxed b*tch" that "(h)unted" the lion in Africa? The cat is just as dead, and for all of the same reasons. I don't get it - such impassioned outrage over the one, and radio silence over this one. http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1389397205.jpg |
Why are you seeking outrage? Will it make you feel better somehow?
|
I suspect his ire has been stirred by the double standard that is illustrated by this.
|
I would imagine he harvested that cat in the wild maybe even tracked it...the cat she killed was a bit easier (I think...but could be wrong).

Like Mike Tyson or Michael Vick or Tiger Woods?

That was a nice predator...but I'm not a big fan of cats and their ways.
That said, I'll never understand the mentality behind hunters who make statements such as "I got my _____" as if to say whatever they shot was born to die at their hand. Similarly confusing is the population of entitled local deer hunters who don't get "their" deer and proceed to rant about population mismanagement blah, blah, blah. I've stopped trying to figure it out as it must be something like a Jeep thing...and can find something endearing about most Jeeps. |

I would characterize my feelings more as "curiosity" than "ire". I guess I will never understand the minds of the sort that are capable of working themselves up into such an emotional lather one moment and then, when a quite similar situation arrises (in fairly short order to boot), all we hear is crickets. How they decide what is important enough to get all worked up over completely escapes me. There seems to be no rhyme or reason to it. |
It's moronic to troll for outrage. Life's too short.
|
He made the kill with a bow and arrow. He has blood on him.

We're overrun with deer. I'd be a lot happier if he'd killed Bambi.
|
I'd be more outraged if he put make up on before the shoot.

It's obvious he 's just putting meat on the table.
Give him some slack. |
As far as I'm concerned - they're both cowardly wastes of oxygen....
How's that for "outrage"? |

Humans are so disgraceful. :( I hadn't heard of either of these. I never liked the nationals but now I have a reason to wish them bad luck.

I don't know who the lady is with the African lion.
This guy who I also don't know apparently went on a lion hunt in the US. It is legal in most states that have a Mt. Lion population. I certainly am not outraged a bit. I hope it was eaten. I hear it is quite tasty - Cat, the other white meat. Do I think it is a good idea to have "trophy pictures" and distribute them publicly, especially if you are a public figure? No. You are only playing into the hands of anti-hunters and "animal rights" people. If anyone is familiar with the story, I just want to mention California DFG president Richards and the result he achieved for the hound hunters in the state ... G |
Maybe it is because around here the lions are on shaky ground. Their habitat is so fragmented and shrinking as people encroach into the wilderness areas. So every lion counts in LA.
