Garage
142.39 last month.....highest one I've ever gotten.
Heat with wood but the blower motor draws a lot of juice.

Everybody in CA complains about how expensive our utilities are but when I visited some relatives in Delaware about 10 years ago they said that they paid their heating oil and electricity companies year around to even out the bill! For their house which was a 4 bedroom single story, they paid around $350 to $400 every month! Yikes!!!

Neighbors tell me they've had $800 gas bills in the coldest winter months.

I burn wood. In fact it's lead to a great new hobby - playing with chainsaws.

Wow. I average my electric and gas bills for the year. It makes for a consistant monthly bill for each utility. Combined it is under $200 per month. I never have to chop wood or clean out a fireplace. We are always comfortable and I even heat and cool my garage when I am out there working.

Same here...'cept I'd much rather be out with a bunch of chainsaws (or log splitter) than sitting here fighting off this dang cold .

ps: I don't burn wood myself, but do all the heavy stuff for my my dad these days...he's always preferred to be "working in the wood(s)" but age has caught up with him. It does keep him young though...can't take that away from him
