I wonder if all these noses are dummy noses and they are just waiting to copy Adrian Newey's iteration.

Anyone else find it somewhat amusing how much time and money they put in to designing the aerodynamics of the front wing but in tight racing it often gets bumped/broken off... and then the car with the broken nose soldiers on with no difference in lap times?

Especially Kimi. He doesn't seem to care.

The wings are mandated to have a very large frontal square area - far more than the car needs. The idea of the rule makers, is deny clean free flowing air to the rear of the car - thus slowing it down with understeer. - IE Safer handling and slower cornering speeds.

The trick to the front wings, is trying to reach the large square area required, and still get air to the underside of the rear of the car. There is a lot of extra downforce at the front - the rear is the limiting factor.

Red Bull did something with last year's car that NASCAR team's have made use of.

I knew this look had something to do with the rules, thank you for the clarification.

Based on the opening image the low nose will prevail this year. Gone is the high nose.

I wonder how any of this will affect the seating position.

F1 seating position drawings or photos needed please - Forum - F1technical.net

I thought the new rules were for a bit narrower front wing, but this one looks WIDE.
At least right to the tire edge or seems to.

Perhaps by Australia we'll be seeing different cars. Maybe?

I wonder if Bernie will fine Ferrari for failure to position the Pirelli logos horizontally.
