Powerful movie. Lot of excellent British actors. Denholm Elliot was so young!

'To Leslie' a very serious movie about a young mother who wins a lot of money and can't deal with it. Allison Janney and others.
Warning....it's very sad in parts.

"Duma"
Saw it today on Univision - all in Spanish - but was so good I didn't need to understand everything the humans were saying. Amazing movie - one of the best I've seen in a while. The trailer: And the entire movie on YT: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4zgIikFFn8M

Another fantastic one that was on TV today......."Sweet Country"
The latest film from Warwick Thornton. Inspired by real events, Sweet Country is a period western set in 1929 in the outback of the Northern Territory, Australia.

Transformers has a Porsche 911 as a huge star. Pretty typical Hollywood violent trash movie, but worth if you love 911s. He gets the only decent lines at whatever dork humor they were going for.

Watched an Alan Ladd movie last night - "The Proud Rebel".
Co-starring Olivia de Havilland. Thought the movie was OK but was really worried at times about the Border Collie mix getting shot by feuding neighbors. But the straw that broke the camel's back was when Ladd's character SOLD THE DOG so his son could get an operation to restore his speech. I couldn't believe he'd do something like that - I was yelling at the TV at him and I know his ears were burning considering the colorful language I was using. I mean who sells their son's dog - behind his back - no matter what the friggin' reason?!? In the end the boy got his dog back but that last 45 minutes of the movie was pretty intense for me. The other thing was the legendary actress Olivia de Havilland was amazing in her role. Just fantastic! I was curious about her so did a Google search and gotta say she really was an amazing woman - apart from what we know from her motion picture career. Pretty inspiring. For anyone who cares: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Olivia_de_Havilland

For some reason I'm getting HBO today.
Spielberg's '05 remake of "War of the World's". That scene of the train going by with every car on fire.....

The Hunt. Some humor. Some blood and guts. For some reason, I liked it.

Watched The Jesus Revolution. True story about the movement in Cali in the late 60's - 70's. Even if you aren't interested in God the movie is a flashback of those times for old geezers like me.
