Very cool. I just got to tour the Zuffenhausen factory and visit the museum in December. There were cars I've seen in pictures that I expected to see in person but weren't there... Maybe they were rotated out to this storage facility.

I am in the wrong profession...I need to redirect.
Some of you guys are living the dream ![]() Very cool photos/insight into Porsche history. Those cars all have an incredible story to tell.

Yes, it was a dream! My wife had a work conference to attend in Stuttgart, so for the cost of a week's vacation from work and my plane ticket, I got to tag along. While she was in meetings, I got to tour factories and visit museums. In addition to Porsche, I got to tour the Mercedes factory in Sindelfingen (the new S-class line to boot), visit the Mercedes museum and toward the end of the week, I took a day trip to Munich to see the BMW Welt and Museum and have lunch at the Hofbrau house. We were suppose to make this trip at the same time in 2012 but ended up having to cancel due to my wife getting pneumonia. Fortunately, she got better quick and a year later we got to go. Somewhere buried in the depths of the Pelican forums is a "What to do thread" I started.
It was awesome. |
