You mean in his own mind? Because I don't think I've heard anyone else refer to him as the best ever.

The world would have been better off if that had been censored. The intense anger seemingly focused at the camera would have prompted me to hit the button. Too bad it wasn't under my finger.

Who else has declared that?

He better play well on Sunday or he's going down as the worst. Talks cheap!

People forget that Crabtree pronounced the Seattle secondary as "not worth worrying about" or something to that effect around the start of the season. This undoubtedly remained in Sherman's mind up until the last play of the SF/Seattle game.

I was glad to hear Sherman's remarks as it gave a glimpse into the pure emotion of playing at such a high level. I'd imagine if you don't think of yourself as the best at your position in the NFL one could have a short career.

Like other sports there is a lot of "game" played off the field.

Oh, and go Broncs! They'll win by 10 short of a blizzard.

..worked this time. Seems like a stand-up guy.

I think I'll root for him having a good game whilst hoping the Seachix lose.

I don't get it. No doubt he's a great athlete. And I'm pretty sure he would take back that Erin Andrews interview if given the chance.

Richard Sherman is brash, cocky and runs his mouth a lot. He is also intelligent, insightful and has a work ethic that should be admired. All things considered, he'd be high on my list of players if I were building a team and he's one of the few NFL players that I'd find interesting enough to share a beer with. I'm not a big Seahawks fan but I have a lot of admiration for Richard Sherman.

He is not considered the best ever......yet. You have to have some longevity to get to that level. He will be the media darling by weeks end though.

He has 20 picks in 48 games. 16 in the last 32. They don't throw at him that often anymore. He will get beat deep sometimes, they all do.

4.2 gpa in high school, 3.9 at Stanford. He also ran track at Stanford and was the high school triple jump State champion as a Senior in high school in Kali.

Some fun: 23 Reasons Richard Sherman Is Actually One Of The Most Likable Players In The NFL

He is really a fun loving, caring individual. My son gets access to their practice field every so often and Sherm is always talking and even talks with him.

I like your son's Twins cap.

I like Sherman a lot. Obviously, that interview 2 minutes after the cliff-hanger playoff game and getting pushed in the face by Crabtree was not his finest moment. But all of the blowback from it was a lot worse. There was a lot of racism, (on twitter, etc.), that besides being disgusting was not accurate at all in terms of him being a thug/gangster/scary black guy/etc...

I got curious about him after that nutty interview and looked up other videos of him on sports programs. He's all-day smart and perfectly nice in normal situations. Something really set him off that night and he just lost it. He's young, give him a chance both as a player and a man.

I don't think anyone is saying he's the best ever, and that includes Richard Sherman. If I had to vote, I'd say Lester Hayes. That guy was a monster.

But if RS lasts 15 years in the league and ten years from now they are still using him in man coverage, then you can start talking about his legacy WRT to all-time anything. Until then, he's a talented kid who plays a good game and talks a great game.
