So sorry to hear that. All our dads must go sometime, mine in 1976 , yours today. It's never a good time. Stay focused.

Sorry for your loss, Glen. My dad has been gone 10 years next month. I still miss him and just being able to call and talk.

Glen, awesome tribute to your Pop. I lost my dad 13 years ago today, still miss him terribly but like you, have great memories of him. Hold on to those and carry on in his footsteps. Sounds like he'd be awfully proud of you.
Blessings

You speak of your father highly. He looked like a nice man and treated you very well.
It is hard for the ones left behind. You have likely inherited his good traits. Time heals somewhat but the memories will always be there.....Guy.

So sorry. Very sad but two things spring to life from your post; That he was a good man who lived a meaningful life, and that you were a good son and gave him immeasurable joy. Of course you're going to miss him and their will be some grieving ahead but focus on the gift of having him all these years.

RIP and you are now in our thoughts.

So sorry to hear of your loss Glen and may your dear father forever rest in peace. Seeing those great pictures of you and your dad reminded me a great deal of my father too....I lost him July 30/2008....still seems like yesterday!

Pelicans, if your parents are still around, cherish every moment...OK?

Think of yourself as a very lucky guy. He looks like the best father ever! I can tell by his face he was a really good natured guy. And he got to live to a good old age.

Sorry for your loss. It looks like he had smile in his eyes. My mom had that too, and after 6 years, I still miss it.

I also lost my dad quite recently - just before Christmas. It made what would have been a joyous holiday season quite different, especially since it was very sudden.

I see your dad was USMC. As mine was USN, he had the USMC honor guard & riflemen at the burial at the veterans cemetery in FL. As sad as it was, it was a great tribute and honor. I hope you and your had the same opportunity to honor your father's life and memory.

Father, a noun and also a verb. Quite evident from your post that he excelled at the latter. You were blessed to have had him...
