Just started season 3. Seems like Portwenn would be a nice place to live. They film on location, real life Portwenn is Port Isaac.

Yes I like it. Being an ex Brit I can relate to it. Doc Martin is well cast. Hey Livi what do you think of it?

Yes, I got hooked on it randomly surfing PBS years ago...

I was watching TV with my wife one night and it came on... at first she was ewww, what is this? In fifteen minutes she was hooked, we are now going through the series with netflix.

The main actor has a special on PBS about horses... got to remember to DVR that.

Yeah, been watching that for a couple years now, half just for the village, and another Brit show, Death in Paradise. I watch that one for the female detective.

Yep, like it (except for them killing off the aunt). They are filming a new season it's been reported.

I like the little village, too.

I was browsing around with Google's street view.

Some of the things the various characters say and do is beyond belief.
Well, not really, but it does show you the benefit of thinking before speaking!

Yes, watching it that way.

We watched the series a couple of years ago.
The local public library had it available.

My wife likes the British mysteries, and I enjoy them too. I looked Death in Paradise up and decided to give it a shot because it sounded interesting. I can't buy it or stream in from netflix, but I found 5 episodes on youtube and was able to download and stream those at the house. We do enjoy the show. I'm recording the episodes that come on PBS too. I'm surprised that the main detective gets killed off after two seasons.

My wife and I have been watching it for years now. I too have some deranged fantasy about opening up a cheese shop or doggie grooming salon in Port Wenn and living the good life by the sea!

We just finished up season 6 a few weeks ago. I think Doc Martin's character is getting a little stale for me although it seems the writers are attempting to make him grow in the upcoming season. We'll see.

If you haven't done so already, check out the Doc Martin TV Movies that were done long before the series. The character of the Doc is very different and quite a bit more pleasant. He actually embraces the lifestyle of the village which is interesting.

I like Doc Martin. Too bad it is not on more often. It is far superior to Downton Abbey, yet Downton Abbey seems to be on every day.

Netflix and Amazon Streaming both have up to season 5 if you have their streaming services.
