A good rule of thumb is that unless you're swimming or on fire, you cannot have too many firearms, or too much ammo.

Bought an SKS about 20 yrs. ago...just shot it for the first time last week.
It's a basic rig, no scope, etc. It's a keeper...got a few thousand rounds (7.62x39).
Accurate, too.

Glock 17
Saiga 12
AR 15
LAR 8
AR 50

Guns to keep............

I operate from the premise that a pistol or revolver is something that you use to fight your way to a rifle or shotgun. That said, I would want to have the following pieces:

.22 pistol or revolver preferably with 6" bbl
.357 Mag revolver (can use either .38 special or .357 mag ammo)
220 Sig Sauer in .45 acp with a bunch of mags
some kind of high cap 9mm
12 gauge pump, probably a Remington 870 in riot configuration
AR15 in .223 caliber (with scope can double as a hunting rifle)
.22 rifle, probably a Ruger 10/22
Bonus piece, 20 gauge Win Model 12 Pump

Go ahead, it's just something I heard.

If only one weapon, probably a 12ga pump with a couple of barrels, and maybe a couple of stock options. If two, add a bolt action .30-06 to the 12ga. If 3 firearms are the minimum, add a 4" .357 magnum revolver to the shotgun and rifle. If you reload, there's little you would need a firearm for that couldn't be accomplished with those weapons.

Here's the thing, whatever you own, learn how to use it.

Glock 9mm or .45 - this is the main pistol that always works
S&W titanium/scandium .357/.38 - this is the light/small/big bullet gun that is always with you
FN-FAL .308 w/ scope - this serves as your zombie rifle and can pinch-hit for some hunting
Mossberg 500 or similar 12 ga, pref stainless - this is your bird gun and zombie alternative
AR7 .22 scoped - this is your survival rifle

dyount 02-03-2014 09:49 AM

Scar in 7.62
Side by Side 12 g
30-30 lever
243 pump w/scope

A 1911 in .45 cal with an ACE 22 cal conversion.

Pump action 12 gauge.
My choice is an 870 with two barrels. One short for home protection one full choke long barrel for hunting

Some sort of assault rifle for Zombie deterrence (government or alien)
Mine is a HK SL8 in 5.56

I guess that leaves something to carry;
I go old school for this Colt 1908 .380. It gives me that Al Capone feel.

Limit of 5 or 6?

- Ruger 10/22
- 9mm H&K
- 9mm Hi-Point Carbine (it's better than you think)
- Remmington 870 Wingmaster 20ga
- 7.62x39 SKS Paratrooper
and if I get a sixth, a nice Ithica 20ga double-barrel...
