My friend who is 70 just had sciatic nerve surgery at Stanford. It has been three weeks and he is pain free. Seems they shaved the disk and put a plaster cast around the nerve. He said the pain was the worst he has ever experienced. The surgery was a piece of cake according to him.

I am having a flare up as I type. Short term, meds to get the pain to a bearable level and allow me to move.. Long term PT and exercises will (hopefully) get me to 100%.
