For those interested in scissor lifts.
I came across this website which does marketing for manufacturers in China. There are a lot of quite nice looking scissor lifts here. Car Post Lift, Car Scissor Lift, Car Wheel Alignment from China Manufacturer - page 1.
I recognise one of the lifts as one that is sold around here in New Zealand. Looking at the ad's it appears they are happy to sell one lift, I'm guessing for evaluation purposes hoping you will buy a container load. |

Given how poorly the Chinese knock off our companies products, I think I'll stick to my good ol made in USA lift...

Most of our stuff like this is from China, it's a fact of life around here. I just thought some of you guys may be interested in a more affordable option.

There is a large national lift company in Guthrie that a good friend of mine works at. That company is not interested in the home hobbyist market. They even said they did a market study and the laywers told them to it was a bad idea. If we needed a lift to raise virtually anything at the office they would be all over a custom lift or a standard lift of high or low capacity. They just don't want to get into the home hobby market. ![]() Right now I am leaning towards the BendPak MD6XP. I feel sure it is made in China but I will be able to get parts and service in the future if necessary.

I've been researching, measuring, re-measuring and changing my mind on what lift to buy for the last two months. I've looked a A LOT of different home garage style lifts and I think almost all of them are Hecho In China. I think the Mohawk is assembled in the US, but that's the closest I've seen to MIA. I've never seen that Snap-On for sale anywhere new. Is it still being made?

I know a local guy who is upgrading to a 2 post and wants to sell his current setup. I can't tell what kind of lift it is from the description I was given. I'm going to check that one out this week. If that doesnt work out I will go with the Bendpak or Atlas portable midrise scissor.

Trying to make the same decision on a scissor lift. BendPak MD6-XP was a front runner until I found the Rotary Revolution RMR6. We actually have a local Rotary dealer here in Seattle where I was able to see the unit in person. They will deliver and install the lift and the price works out to just a little bit higher than an internet buy.
The two lifts seem very similar in every regard except for how the safety mechanisms work. Tough decision for sure! A buddy of mine in the materials handling business recommended the Mohawk but it's expensive and probably overkill for a lift that's only going to see my 911 and not shop duty.

I'd love a non-Chinese one too. But I may as well buy one directly other than the same one here for 2 or 3 times the cost. I had to laugh, a friend was showing me his scissor lift that he has with a whole lot of German writing on it, as much as I hated to burst his bubble but I showed him the part number AA-PS3600 on ones half the price but without the German writing.
That Snap-on one is exactly what I would like. One that can be manovered around if necessary. |

The prices on the site in the OP are almost half of the cost for a comparable lift from a US distributors. Im sure someone will start importing and marking them up for resale.
I guess the Snap-On branded WheelTronics lifts are the same as the 'John Bean Co', Total Lifting Solutions lifts. The WheelTronics 6500 & 6501 are still listed in the Snap-On online catalogue, but not the John Bean Co. or the TLS website. From the online specs, they do have some kind of ANSI/UL certification. |

I have had my Bendpak md6xp for many years.... I can't imagine life without it. I simply have doubled 2x10's laying along side for my Porsches and BMW's. I have done multiple clutch jobs and complete exhaust systems on many of my German cars. I love this lift.
