Haven't heard the ladder (giggle), might hafta check it out tonight when I get some more bandwidth. Granted I aint no music wonk but when I listen to that song I get almost lost. It's quick with lots going on, almost like they're stepping all over each other but in the end it all fits and works. I wonder if it was all orchestrated that way or a result of a bunch of really good players improvising? |

Okay, I am stoked! I have an audition with a Donny and Marie band next week. They are a little bit Country and a little bit Rock and Roll. Mostly classic to semi modern music in both genres. I have seen the set list and I am happy with it. They seem to be seasoned musicians and open to making needed changes due to my vocal limitations etc... Should get to audition sometime next week.

Good luck... I have a basement jam thing going. Not going very well since I'm the most experienced in the bunch. We advertised for a singer so I could get out of doing the singing. Man. He blew us away and showed us (or perhaps the bassist) how bad we are. I already knew. Though in two hours I swear this guy drank an entire 6 pack of tall boys.

We're breaking in a new bassist for a gig next week. We've had two practices with him and he's been really diligent with his homework. Last week we just spontaneously all started playing Roundabout, actually limping through it. Now we're gonna try to really put it together, though not in time for next week's gig. I've been practicing it on the couch unplugged, reading along on the computer, and finally started playing along with the album last night. Geezus, that song is a challenge. If we pull it off, it will be a crowning achievement. It makes the Rush tunes feel like kid stuff. And I'm going to see Yes play it for real in a few weeks. They're playing the whole Fragile and Close the Edge albums.
