More Gitar Pron
Figured that I would give an update to the Les Paul copy that I acquired a month or so ago. First off, I have came to the conclusion that the body is either an actual Gibson body or that of a high end Japanese Lawsuit guitar. I have only found a couple of guitars on the net that have the type of binding that this guitar has. The neck is not from this guitar body, I believe it is from another guitar. I started doing work on it and my wife decided that she wanted it, so I gave it to her. She wanted all black hardware so she got it. I am still waiting on the graphite nut, pick ups and selector switch to come in, but I am close to having it done for her. I decided to set the neck but go ahead and still screw it together at the same time. I took the optional route and did the Ibanez type screw attachment. I will have a small area that I will need to plug in front of the neck pickup, but that shouldn't be too difficult. I did manage to hand sand a little too deep near the knobs so the stain actually took a little better in that area, I offered to paint the front of the guitar, but my wife declined saying that it gave it "Character". All in all, I am pretty happy with the outcome, it seems pretty sturdy and a little more presentable then what it was when I got it. Not a premium job, but decent, my wife even got to do some of the work when we had to plug and redrill for the new bridge. FWIW, my wife has never really been interested in guitars, but after purchasing her a couple digital lessons on some of her favorite songs as well as a couple visits to Guitar Center, she now has her eyes set on a $1400. Gibson Les Paul... I told her to save her pennies

No way it's a real Gibson body. The tail piece is not angled. Neck looks like a home build.
EDIT: Truss rod cover is not made by Gibson either.

Not a gibson body. Got a pic with the pup surrounds off and looking down/sideways into the neck cavity?

Yes, I doubt it is a true Gibson as well, I think it is a Japanese lawsuit body. The neck I have no idea, I know that it is not original to the body. Look at the gap between the neck pickup and the neck itself. Any ideas on how to fill that area? I was thinking of using sawdust and resin. Just make a thick batch up and fill in the area and then sand it down.
