Good to hear guys, I am at 10 months and blending down to zero now. Still feel funny about puffing, but I had shame smoking too. And yes I can really smell smokers now :)

Eight weeks ago she tried e-cigs and in 5 weeks was down to 0 nicotene. She still puffs on one now and then, but she can go all day without it. She says she likes the security of the e-cig in her hand. I guess it's kind of like a pacifier. She vapes in the house now and the vapor she uses is candy/cinnamon flavored. It's a little powerful at times but it dissipates fast and leaves no residue. Having the house smell like a candy store for a few minutes is a lot better than smelling like a dirty ashtray permanently.

My MIL had to get braces at 50.

Heavy smoker.

She quit but chewed on a plastic cigarette pacifier for a couple of years and screwed up her teeth.

It's hard for some of us.

As an ex smoker I have to say that traditional smokers freaking stink. Their clothes, bodies, breath, all smells like a wet ashtray. Smoke one cig and you smell all damn day. Brush your teeth, wash your hands and face. Does not work. Your hair and clothes still reek. I work in an office environment and can smell the smokers walk past my office. Serious.

I am an ex smoker...but not perfect at it. One here. A couple weeks, a month. Another there. Someday hopefully. :)

This is great news.

It's interesting that it worked for your GF (and many others that I know of) when the "experts" are telling us they're not an approved smoking cessation device.... lol

Why not get a small (cheap) Vaping device and have a go?

Hang in there. I quit 5 or 6 times. I was used to paying 35 cents for Marlboros here in Ohio and I went to New York for a weekend and they were 75 cents. I said, "If these things ever get that high at home I'm quitting." They did and I didn't. Finally, in 1979 I looked at a pack of Marlboros and asked myself who was the boss here, you or me. I threw them away and never smoked again. Just keep trying because you never know when it is going to stick. Every cig you DON'T smoke is a victory.

Looks like I missed this thread, as I don't come around here as much anymore.

My better half smoked for years and tried many different ways and times to quit, with varying success. I got her to try a traditional e-cigarette a couple years ago, and she never looked back. Now, two years later, we run a couple companies that manufacture the e-liquid and sell the hardware.

I also run a Facebook support group with 5,000 plus members. Since my group is for adults that can behave themselves, we are very selective and ban anyone that slips up. We'd have 20,000+ members otherwise. It's a huge community, almost 'underground'. Oddly, I'm considered an expert...lol.

So if you need any advice at all on anything to do with vaping from newbie to expert please feel free to reach out.

My best advice is: learn to make your own liquids..... and don't act like an ass thinking you have 'rights' vaping versus smoking

Well said Eric. I Vape in designated Smoking areas only.

Meanwhile tomorrow marks 5 months Tobacco free for me. ;)

Honestly this works IF YOU WORK IT.

Oh Haha 02-25-2015 11:09 AM

My wife and I recently stopped real tobacco and started with the electric version.

We had both quit back in 2002 when we were trying to get pregnant. I quit cold turkey and she weaned herself off in about 6 weeks.

Fast forward to 2013. She started again but I refrained until work stress became a good excuse to start again. Dumba$$!!!

I didn't buy them but would share hers.

About 3 months ago she got her first kit of Ecigs. I poo-pooed the idea with "if you are going to smoke, do it with Marlboros!"

She bought a new setup a couple of weeks ago and insisted that I try one of her older versions. I didn't hate it and it beats sneaking out after dark so my kids didn't know I was smoking.

Now, we can enjoy an after supper "smoke" and not have all of the nastiness of real tobacco.

When I was in high school smoking was allowed by the school, at the school but many parents did not want their kids to smoke. I was a non smoker and my friends would all start chewing gum thinking their parents would not know they were smoking. Many of my friends would come over to to and ask if I could smell if they had been smoking. I told them every time, they reek of smoke and their parents will have to be smokers or dead to not notice.

In those days smoking was allowed in restaurants and pretty much anywhere. I hated it.

I'm 10 months without a smoke. This works.

A couple of different setups. I have many different options now. ;)

Smoked 29 years, usually 2 packs a day. Been off them 4 months now and could not have done it without my vape. Using a provari p3 at the moment. Haven't started building yet but that's next I guess

sc_rufctr 02-25-2015 06:14 PM

This is my out and about setup. When your away from home you need something that's reliable and easy. I carry a spare coil and battery. 5 Mils of juice is plenty for a whole day.
Note::: The Nautilus would have to be one if the best non rebuildable Atty's right now.

There are lots of negative and misleading info about Vapeing online. You really need to read between the lines on a lot of this stuff.

The one thing I do know for sure is that it's better than smoking tobacco.

Meanwhile... I'm 14 months tobacco free and I've reduced my Nic level to 3mg/mil.
