OK you do...whats the most likely way?
And do you know -when a bulb brakes you are supposed to put a bowl over it and let the gas slowly merge with you and your body rather then all at once ! LOL
I Love goberment in my life............

It sounds like you suffer from an irrational fear of CFL bulbs and trace amounts of mercury. Fluorescent lighting has been the std in schools, office buildings and workshops for 80 years and yes they all contain trace amounts of mercury. If you haven't OD'ed from mercury exposure from all those broken bulbs over your lifetime it is unlikely you will now. Get a grip on yourself. Our town accepts all electronic waste every Saturday so every 8 years or so we take a few cfl bulbs and batteries down.

Education is a good thing so we make rational choices and are not overcome with fear of the unknown. Comparing a lifetime of exposure to fluorescent bulbs with a lifetime of exposure to Mc Donalds food, the Micky Ds is 100,000 times a greater threat to my health. Everything in perspective. I have no interest in what the govt does/doesn't do. They are not my problem. I do hate paying far to much $$ for electricity cause I am inherently a cheapass.

I'd love to try LED lights, but not at average price of $25-40 dollars EACH.

Try Costco LED Light Bulbs
Our store has the Feit 8Ws(40W) in three packs for $20. $7/bulb.

Yaaaaaaay!! Let there be light. A different Home Depot keeps them in stock, it was starting to feel like a cave in here!

In the back section of the shop, where I am standing to take this photo, I have 12 old school 4 bulb t 12 fixtures, they are old, rusty, and ugly as hell, also, half the ballasts are burnt out. Replacing these is on this years things to do list.
So, if you were going to try to light up a 30x40 area with 14 ft vaulted ceilings , what would be the best way to go?
Sorry for the thread hi-jack.
