I am 67 yo. Larry King had many wives - in serial fashion I believe he had 6. Jay Leno had many cars. I can relate to Jay Leno better when his cars starred.

Johnny Carson was genuinely funny.
Ed Sullivan not so much funny but he had great performers such as rock groups etc.

Right now it is a toss up. They are all pretty much the same. :) G.

I watched Leno's monolog and sometimes made it thru the guest. Tried Fallon, but just not that funny to me. Switched over to Jimmy Kimmel and find it more on topic for the times. Oh and I'm 54 years old.

I like Letterman a lot. It took several shows in the 70's to appreciate his sarcasm but I was hooked. Always my favorite.

They all make me laugh. I don't go out of my way to watch the shows anymore. Fallon is really sharp.

Jack Paar was the "A" team...

Everyone else is the "B" team...

I'm a seventeen year old girl and I'm not wearing any panties

There are people that think Adam Sandler is funny so I guess someone might think Letterman as funny. His show has been on a long time.

Do you like Pauly Shore? The least funny "comedian" of all time?

URY914 03-06-2014 11:50 AM

Anyone remember the Alan Thick show back in the 80's?

I like Benny Hill. But could he have carried a talk show?

61 I enjoy a good laugh.....nun of these guys hit the mark all the time.
However, I have enjoyed all of their shows at one time or another.

So glad Lennos gone. Fallon rules.

It would be absolutely un-possible for my opinion on this topic to differ from yours any more than it already does.

Benny Hill was very funny.

Jimmy Fallon is killing it.

From the Brian Williams "Rapper's Delight" edit to the History of Rap with Justin Timberlake to the Idina Menzel / The Roots rendition of "Let It Go."

He is more than just having jokes and interviewing guests. He is innovative without being odd (which Conan crosses more often than not).

Leno sucked, Letterman sucked, and so do all the old dudes you guys mentioned.

I'm 31, but since I do work in the industry, I have seen all of them. The only ones I liked were Conan & Fallon.

Jaywalking is pretty funny, though.

It's a talk show. We already have SNL, don't need so many skits. I predict the younger crowd will watch him until the next big thing comes around and the older crowd will tune him out altogether.

If you look at his guests thus far, most are people I couldn't care less about. Lady Gaga, Michele Obama...

I think they are going after a younger demographic. I wish them luck, lots of those folks don't even watch much TV.

The younger crowd may not watch a lot of live tv, but they share the video of his Lip Sync Contest with everybody they know.

Fallon is like an excited little kid, just giggling and having fun. It's like contagious laughter.

So what if we already have SNL. How many talk shows are there?

Besides, the whole talk show formula is so boring. Why not make it entertaining for those that do watch?

rusnak 03-06-2014 05:05 PM

Jimmy looks like he just needs a good cry all the time. Maybe that's his appeal to younger people?

Good memories. Late 60's. My Mom's folks lived right up the street. 300 yards. Used to sleep over at their place. Grandma would crash upstairs and Grandpa would come home with a buzz on from his refinery job, post beers at the pub.

On the UHF channels they had Benny Hill re-runs. He got a kick out of them and let me watch with him. For a 13 year old, it was awesome. He let me suck down the biggest bowl of ice cream I could dish out. Life was good.

He would then lay on the floor, fall asleep and snore. I was on the couch four feet away with the pillow wrapped around my head. :)

Agreed, and it's not new, he's always been that way. For years he's been the same funny witty able comedic dude.

I like lenno's car collection and his internet car related shows but he's not funny to me.
Letterman is sarcastically funny. He makes me giggle. Jimmy kimmel is ok but I haven't really given him a chance.

I'm still 44. I might be 45. I'm not sure.
I had given up on the late night shows, and I font go to sleep early either. But now I'm watching again.
Funny stuff.

Fallon sucks. Bring back Jack Paar as a zombie.

GWN7 03-06-2014 07:12 PM

Fallon was in the news today. It seems that he thinks his show is so hot he can make demands on his guests. The report said if you do his show you can't be on any other show as a guest or you won't be invited back. Shades of Carson back in the 60's
