Fever dreams/lucid dreaming
I'm coming off a three day fever and, everything was has been a blur but the reoccurring dreams. Have to say these past few days have been the best dreams in years though; In the sense of realism.
Anyone else turn into a zombie on these special occasions!? ![]()

Oh yeah. Times when you are utterly exhausted or sick. You drift in to very deep REM sleep that your typically too wired up to reach. I remember some those dreams like they were vacation memories. Clear memory of them, years later.

"When I was a child, I had a fever..." OK, excuse the Pink Floyd reference...
When I was a kid (maybe 12) I had a really high fever that was never explained. I think it was 106 or so. About the only thing I remember from the whole experience is the crazy dreams/hallucinations. To this day, whenever I have a fever, these same images return. It's sort of surreal/interesting...

It seems when I have a fever, I end up sleeping on my stomache and sometimes get those vivid dreams, although I wake up completely sweaty though.

I've had them. I still remember one from 30 years ago. I don't know why, it wasn't all that strange. I worked in a place that had a dead-end hallway with an emergency door at the end and four offices on each side of the hall. My boss worked in the last office before the dead-end/emergency door, and other engineer/friends worked in the other offices. In my dream I went to talk to my boss and when I turned down the hall there were only two offices on each side. Everything looked normal except the hallway was shorter and there were only four offices. It was like, "OK, did I hallucinate that these people existed, or did they really exist and I hallucinated that they were disappeared?"

One of the side effects of Crestor is having wild dreams and as my stroke doctor told me, if they get too bad she'll give me something to make them stop. She didn't say what that might be, but so far they are all pretty good so I'll pass on the meds.

Where they truly lucid?
ie. you were aware that you were dreaming, and could control your actions within the dream? not something that is often experienced, if so. |

In my early 20's I did an exchange student program in Cambridge. During that time I took a 2 week trip with a friend to Europe with backpacks. On the return I got seriously ill - super high fever. Riding the bus from London back to Cambridge was a blur as was walking the 2 miles back to my host home from the station. The host family woke me 48 hours later - the mattress was completely drenched in sweat. The dreams are what I still remember (30 years later) - totally overwhelming, disturbing, and out of control. They bothered me for many years.
