Confidence in the economy

Just got back from our show in NY where buyers place their Fall 14 orders. Show attendance wasn't great, hasn't been since the recession weeded out all the hobbyists. Orders, however, were up to 3X their normal size with a lot of stores taking risks on our suits and motorcycle parkas. Everyone was bullish about the future.

Bad pics, need a new camera. Booth

Im glad things are going well for you. I'm beginning to feel like we'll see a downturn in the next few years if not sooner. I'm working on minimizing costs.

I hope I'm wrong and things stay bullish for a while.

Very cool Shaun. I think consumers and businesses are simply ignoring the continual doom and gloom of the media and getting back to business as usual. After cowering in the corner for a while, they realized that there's actually nothing to be afraid of. It may not be an economic boom, but it's not the depression either.

agreed. the hype and the fear hype is over, and people are figuring out a way to live, and profit as they always do.

Just found our fleece-lined Buffalo Plaid jacket was featured in our trade magazine.

I love this jacket, having one made for me this fall. Inside is like wearing a plush teddie bear.

Cool clothes!

Do you think they'll recognize those things as race cars?

I had a tee shirt with an IBM punch card on the front and my name "punched" in it. It used to get smiles, but it just gets blank looks these days.

Thanks Patrick! Some of the cars came out good, others not. I have redo some of them so they look better. Didn't have time for sampling test plates with our manufacturing, but can change it for production. I might do 2 colors for each car as well. The blue cars are good, grey not so much.

I wasn't talking about the quality of the image. I think it looks great! I was talking about the shape of those cars vs the shape of modern race cars.

My biz has picked up as well over the last year or two. Definitely not a boom but a great improvement from 08.

That's why I do what I do. Something has to sink in.

Great to hear!

Another data point, when I hired packers this season I got a very low response, so things are doing well locally. I'm very optimistic about this year.
