2014 12 Hours of Sebring TV coverage

Looks like the first few hours will be on Fox Sports 1 and the rest on IMSA dot com.

linkey:

Maybe they are time compressing 5 hours?;)

IMSA is screwing themselves w/ their lack of coverage for this series. That is part of the reason why teams are dropping out. It costs a TON to campaign and no one is getting any sponsor advertising coverage out of it.

Aragorn 03-12-2014 01:18 PM

The days of one network clearing off 12 or 24 hours of their schedule for a race telecast seem to be over.:(

javadog 03-12-2014 05:57 PM

Well, now that Nascar folks are running the show, don't expect decent TV coverage. They are doing the same thing to AMA road racing. So far only 5 confirmed races and not a single one will be on TV. Internet only...

****ers....

Is anybody watching?

IMSA | TUDOR United SportsCar Championship | Live Broadcast

Check out this boneheaded move... the result of the driver not waiting until the corner workers gave him the go ahead.

What an idiot!

When I was doing track events I did see some drivers who were cleared for solo and also in advanced groups who thought they were Mario Andretti.

They're personalities were the problem.

BIG egos.

Now's a good time to tune in... everyone is charging hard now that it's down to less than 2 hours.

A curious trackside firebreathing item... unknown as to its origin or function... kinda looks like a coffeemaker on steroids to me...

Thanks for those pics and info, John.

Now how about the huge mistake IMSA made in penalizing the Alex Job #22 car....that cost them the race!

Quote:

“There’s nothing that we can do in terms of taking time away and doing anything to the results. We’re sorry, and we made a mistake. We have some things in place to fix it for the next time.”
I can't believe they didn't add the lost time back in - that is terrible! The Alex Job team should receive a huge sum of $ at least to compensate if they are not going to move them up in the podium.

This is outrageous....

IMSA admitted two incorrect calls were made during Saturday’s Mobil 1 Twelve Hours of Sebring.

A penalty was assessed to the No. 22 Alex Job Racing Porsche 911 GT America, a stop-and-hold plus 80-second penalty, for contact deemed to have occurred between it and the No. 49 Spirit of Race Ferrari 458 Italia GT3 at Turn 7 in the race’s eighth hour.

The problem was, the No. 49 Ferrari was contacted by a Porsche – twice – and neither time was it the No. 22 car.

Both the No. 911 and No. 912 Porsche North America Porsche 911 RSRs made contact with the No. 49 Ferrari during the race. The No. 911 hit the No. 49 at Turn 5, and the No. 912 later hit the No. 49 at Turn 7.

IMSA admitted the mistakes were made with the assessing of the penalty to the No. 22, and failing to call the No. 911 for an incident as well.

The No. 912 Porsche 911 RSR was not given a penalty, IMSA admitted. That car went on to win the GT Le Mans class.

IMSA apologized for the error, but it wasn’t enough for Job.

“We finished somewhere around five seconds back, out of the win,” Job said. “And we got an 80-second penalty plus the drive in and out of pit lane.

“I want some satisfaction. Apologies are not enough.”

I was there yesterday and shot about 1000 images. I'm going thru them now. Here is the Job car. They should also get extra points for having the best looking models walking around the pits/paddock. Smokin' is an understatement.
