spring has sprung! (around here)

this morning was amazing. i had to leave my house at 5am, to meet a contractor guy. he has never been to our job before, and i try to keep it safe by leading newbs out there for the first time. it is our busiest bridge. i pulled up to our meeting spot, groggy. i looked left, and there is my favorite coffee shop. PEETS! i run in grab a cup. the guy shows up..quick chat..we go!

we saw the sun come up. it lit the skyline up! all hollywood looking. amazing. cool weather, hot coffee..amazing scenery. great start to the day.

i was snapped back to scary reality when i had to pull my truck out of our cozy lane closure into insane traffic. gas gas gas!

(at this time, i would like to apologize and offer condolences to my eastern brothers and sisters still wearing puffy jackets and muckboots)

A hot cup of coffee on a crisp spring morning is hard to beat.

Winter is putting up a good fight, but we are slowly pulling out of it. Highs are getting up to the 50s/60s/70s, lows no longer below freezing, and just a little bit of green. I can't wait for summer, having a new boat that I can't use is a killer.

In NW Ohio, we haven't had a day over 55 since October, but there are a few signs of Spring.

I laugh to think that most years we have green grass by the end of March......not this year.

But then CA is facing a serious drought...

Time for a first look outside in the morning photo thread.

It was straight up hot here today. Which I will take every time over that picture of IL above.

I'm growin' new grass, care of the city, where they took out our old tree last year on the parkway.
This recent rain and now the warm days has been good for it.http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1395272452.jpg

Tell me about them. Maybe the dog poop that sits on top of the un-melted snow piles?

How bout them Hostas that are just breaking through - NOT.

This has been a rude one and next week is supposed to be near freezing temps.

Oh, yay. Thank God for the chest thread. Kinda. I am so bummed I don't even feel like spanking the monkey.:D

Oh, thanks for this, Mark. Cheers from winter hell.

Today, it got within a couple of degrees of the melting point. In the sunshine, things were melting.
Tomorrow is the first day of spring and we are supposed to get above freezing for three or four days.
The Miata has been shut in the garage since Oct.

I am SO looking forward to Spring.
Best

I ate my lunch out on our patio today, looking at our garden which is quite colorful, even now. I thought, 'I should take a picture of this to share with the guys back in snow land'.
Glad I didn't.

Oh boy, that's actually pretty seeing it from a place that never get snow. My kids will have a field day there. A few more days to go Jim. It was 85 here today. My AC's been on auto for a week now. We wouldn't get another day below 65 until the end of year.

Nova Scotia is again on the south side of this one. It was below freezing when we got up, but by 10 AM, it had gotten above the melting point and was just starting to rain when I took the dogs for a walk around the marsh.

Maple season is just starting here.

Best
