more wtf is wrong with people?

Underscores my continued belief that certain humans should not be allowed to breed....
|
Darwinism rarely applies to humans these days.
|
Holy cow, where do these people come from?

To me the whole human race is a failed experiment. What a wonderful planet this would be without the mess we have created - including barbarous behaviour like this. Imagine the poor souls who will be born 200 years from now. I pity them.

Just as the human mind can become solely etherical and focused on complex higher reasoning, so can the opposite occur.
I don't have an explanation. |
He was awakened when his wife returned to the TRAILER..... Says it all!

I work in codes for a living and typically do new commercial construction inspection. The negative of my job is that when things turn to ugly they pull me in for enforcement and condemnation of properties.
Unless you've been there I just can't describe how some people live. Filth, feces, rotten food, grease, animal urine to the point you've got to put Vicks under your nose to walk in the door. I can remember being in a "home" with youth and children services and I'm thinking I'm gonna post this property and get these kids away from the mentally unbalanced, filthy parents. YCS says no because they don't want the kids taken away from the parents. As a single dad raising 2 awesome young ladies myself I'll never forget that day. Raining and cold and when I got back to my truck all I could do was cry thinking of my inability to actually help these people ..... and I'm part of the "system" to help people. |

Yes depending upon the situation I've gone well beyond a respirator.... Did one a few years ago in a full hazmat suit. After removing 30+ cats, owners etc had the building torn down as never to be able to be lived in. Owner sued claiming we'd stolen his beer. Actually had pics as evidence showing said beer with cat poo crusted.. yes crusted on it. Floors had actually become unstable from years of urine soaking into the structure and the acid destroyed the wood .... "spine shiver" thinking about that one.
Alot of codes guys wear leather jackets for a reason..... the stink doesn't sink in |

Your vasectomy is just a nod, not a favor. If you're so ashamed of humanity, there's allot more you could do to save some air to make this a more wonderful planet, Jerome.

What brought that on, Bob? |

As should you. Unless of course you agree that you should also become vasectomized as he did, allegedly for the good of planet earth. Come to think of it, he probably did the right thing as far as it goes. As to whether or not I have been vasectomized is none of his or anyone else's damn business. If Jerome has so much concern for mother earth, why doesn't he take the lead and lessen her load. With regard to the 'poor souls' 200 years for now I am questioning why they have any more legitimacy to a pleasant existence than the poor souls of today. I'm wondering whether he has any idea what a soul is-but that is a different question for a different forum. It seems to me Jerome needs to make an apology but not just to me. An apology is owed to all of us 'poor souls' who are not responsible for the mess nor for the 'barbarous behavior' of the few. Not only has Jerome insulted you, he has cast a disparaging damnation upon all of humanity, made himself to look a fool and demonstrated a rather profound capacity for ignorant and blissful hypocrisy. Were that not enough, he also lauds himself for his surgical gesture while implying (regardless of the facts to which he is oblivious) that I should mutilate myself simply to satisfy his self-righteousness. You need to ask Jerome what brought on the terrible (and ignorant) things he has said about you, me and everyone else who loves life, the earth and our legacies. Thanks for asking, Baz. |
The human race has always had people that do stupid things.
I really think the internet has made these "special" people more visible which if you think about it, is a good thing. I have faith in humanity that in the long run we will do more good than harm. For instance... We have a ways to go but there is a plan B for dealing with global warming/climate change. |
After reading this thread I go to the Dog thread for unconditional love....Dog thread spells relief!

I think this is a perfectly good example of how things get escalated to Middle East proportions. Crowbob, I'm sorry you took such offence at someone's remark,(even sorrier to read that vitriol) but I think you're either reading WAY too much into it or perhaps I'm missing some spill-over from another thread or forum. Here's hoping things are better for you both. Les |
Agreed Les, life is too short for that sort of anger.

Yes, there is spill-over. The spill-over has to do with gross generalizations in the name of so-called enlightenment. I believe it's about time good people began standing up for themselves against such things. For example: racism. This nation is being torn apart along racial lines because the race-baiters have capitalized on history by claiming this is a racist nation. Even though this nation has done more to advance racial equality than any other nation in history, many of us must still bear the burden of some of our flawed history. There is much more spill-over, including sexism, classism, and many other 'issues' so frequently muddied-up and perpetuated by selective, false, over-broad and seemingly (to some) innocuous accusations put forth in this thread-to which I am responding. I believe the vitriol you sense in me has more to do with the unpleasant truths that lie beneath it. It is time to stop the escalation. My apologies to you for your sorrow, good sir. |
While I didn't really intend for the thread to take this type of turn, it is interesting, as are some of the posts in the companion thread that I started as a counterpoint.
I don't think that humankind is a "failed experiment", and frankly I'm willing to bet that the amount of horrific human behavior is no greater than at any time in history. Rather the 24/7 news cycle and inter webs brings things to light that previously would have been un-noticed by many. In fact, I'd guess that it is probably better than before, though most parts of the planet continue to struggle just to make it through the day relative to 1st world problems. Perception is reality. One can look at the horrific acts and take that as a sign that the world is terrible, or a wake up call to be steadfast in exposing and rooting out evil where we can. There is easily as much beauty as horror in the world - we choose which to focus on and which to color our perception of our lives. The stories posted are a reminder to me that there will always be bad people in the world. And part of our job is to push back against that part of (in)humanity. Small acts of courage change the world in bigger ways than we realize. Giving up and writing off society is an act of selfishness imho. Everyone has the power to change something for the better. Failure to do so is on that person, not "society" or "government" or "the other guy." |
I agree, humankind is NOT a "failed experiment". I have to admit that I did the big eye roll too when I read his over broad generalization of the human race. We, have MANY wonderful, thoughtful people on this earth, many more than the opposite, I believe.
|
I think Jerome was making a remark to the human condition not a personal attack at you Crowbob, sensitivity like that and people that look for offense everywhere are sure not part of the solution.
