sadly, everywhere. I read about this sort of stuff fairly often, and the news that I read is primarily on the BBC News website. Due to the nature of the media these days, when this sort of thing is discovered, it travels the globe at the speed of light. It's always happened, but was either not discovered or was hidden from the spotlight or was only regional. These days, the whole world knows.

To me the whole human race is a failed experiment. What a wonderful planet this would be without the mess we have created - including barbarous behaviour like this. Imagine the poor souls who will be born 200 years from now. I pity them.

I work in codes for a living and typically do new commercial construction inspection. The negative of my job is that when things turn to ugly they pull me in for enforcement and condemnation of properties.
Unless you've been there I just can't describe how some people live. Filth, feces,rotten food,grease, animal urine to the point you've got to put Vicks under your nose to walk in the door.
I can remember being in a "home" with youth and children services and I'm thinking I'm gonna post this property and get these kids away from the mentally unbalanced, filthy parents. YCS says no because they don't want the kids taken away from the parents.
As a single dad raising 2 awesome young ladies myself I'll never forget that day. Raining and cold and when I got back to my truck all I could do was cry thinking of my inability to actually help these people ..... and I'm part of the "system" to help people.

Yes depending upon the situation I've gone well beyond a respirator.... Did one a few years ago in a full hazmat suit. After removing 30+ cats,owners etc had the building torn down as never to be able to be lived in. Owner sued claiming we'd stolen his beer. Actually had pics as evidence showing said beer with cat poo crusted.. yes crusted on it. Floors had actually become unstable from years of urine soaking into the structure and the acid destroyed the wood .... "spine shiver" thinking about that one.

When some stranger, to include another forum member, makes disparaging and terrible remarks about me, my family and friends who, according to him, are all part of Jerome's 'failed experiment' and responsible for 'barbarous behavior' I take offense.

As should you. Unless of course you agree that you should also become vasectomized as he did, allegedly for the good of planet earth.

Come to think of it, he probably did the right thing as far as it goes.

As to whether or not I have been vasectomized is none of his or anyone else's damn business.

If Jerome has so much concern for mother earth, why doesn't he take the lead and lessen her load.

With regard to the 'poor souls' 200 years for now I am questioning why they have any more legitimacy to a pleasant existence than the poor souls of today. I'm wondering whether he has any idea what a soul is-but that is a different question for a different forum.

It seems to me Jerome needs to make an apology but not just to me. An apology is owed to all of us 'poor souls' who are not responsible for the mess nor for the 'barbarous behavior' of the few.

Not only has Jerome insulted you, he has cast a disparaging damnation upon all of humanity, made himself to look a fool and demonstrated a rather profound capacity for ignorant and blissful hypocrisy. Were that not enough, he also lauds himself for his surgical gesture while implying (regardless of the facts to which he is oblivious) that I should mutilate myself simply to satisfy his self-righteousness.

You need to ask Jerome what brought on the terrible (and ignorant) things he has said about you, me and everyone else who loves life, the earth and our legacies.

The human race has always had people that do stupid things.
I really think the internet has made these "special" people more visible which if you think about it, is a good thing.

I have faith in humanity that in the long run we will do more good than harm.
For instance... We have a ways to go but there is a plan B for dealing with global warming/climate change.

I think this is a perfectly good example of how things get escalated to Middle East proportions.
Crowbob, I'm sorry you took such offence at someone's remark,(even sorrier to read that vitriol) but I think you're either reading WAY too much into it or perhaps I'm missing some spill-over from another thread or forum.
