Finally picked up new (old) truck

The weather has finally been decent eneough around here (at least temporarily), that I was able to go and get the 76 F150 Bicentennital truck which I bought a month ago. There are a few things I still need to do, but it drove nice, and ran fine--excpet for a slight off idle stumble, which may be the older gas/Stabil that is currently in the tank. I will know for certain once I repalce the sending unit and get the old stuff out of there--if it persists I will investigate further. I spent the weekend replacing the battery, cleaning up some electrical connections, getting the old weather-strip residue from the top of the bed rails and doing an oil-filter change. On to the pics:

360-power

A few more--I picked this Bicentennial grille badge up at an estate sale a while back--I figure it is appropriate for this truck:

And, it was missing the glove box emblem--however, while crusiing e-bay the week after I bought it, I came across this--OEM still in the original box

And a couple of pics of the PO garage.

his XJS/front of his T-bird

and the Imperial he is currently working on--way cool ride:

That guy has some cool toys.

I absolutely love the truck. If your fuel system issues persist you might consider just overhauling the entire system. On the Mustang I know that the fuel tanks are notorious for internal rust and crud leading to intermittent issues, as well as old and swollen fuel lines. I suspect you'll find the parts to be laughably cheap, especially since you are calibrated to Porsche pricing.

Looks like you've got the perfect truck to pull a float in the 4th of July parade.

Very cool.

I like the truck a lot, but the wheels look like they belong on a four door sedan IMO.

Nice truck! Were the clearance lights and the mirrors part of the 1976 trim package?

This cracks me up.

Thanks for the comments, I am looking forward to getting some regular use out of it.

To answer some questions.

the wheels/hubcaps were what was standard--the whitewalls give it a nice "old man truck" vibe.

The cab lights are original--the mirrors were intially the taller horizontal chrome type--which he included with the truck--the ones on the truck now are OEM later-style replacements.

The Bicentennial package itself was a dealer-installed option which included the plaid interior, blue headliner/dash/carpet, decal package, front license plate and glovebox emblem. Available either on an all-white truck, or a blue/white truck.
A few more pics for fun.

that's a brand-new tailagte in the box, which he included (but which the truck doesn't really need)

Think it'll be hard to get that gas stain off the fender?

Nice ride. I say the older the better when it comes to trucks. Congrats!
