She was planning to make a left turn. That is why she didn't move over. Also, it's a surface street, not a freeway, so there is no obligation to move over. Her "antics" were insignificant.

You've never spent any appreciable time down there, obviously. I have. That may be a street, but not really. In the south, that's a highway that has an occasional stop light. They are designed as highways that don't really need offramps to exit. Make no mistake, though. Those roads - that road - was a highway for all intenst and purposes.

Think of parts of the 101 up north. You know the kind of road I'm talking about.

Also, I don't buy her "I was gonna turn left" story. It smells like a fabrication to me. It gives her a nice "out" though.

Also, you are such a staunch defender of her "innocent" behavior, it makes me think you may be one of those righteous drivers like my father in law. Are you? Are you one of those guys who will park in the left lane and hold up traffic because you can?

No, you should tell the manager. The manager can ask the guy to chill or leave. It's not my job to become the restaurant police.

The argument that you should call the restaurant manager is not valid. A manager is not going to be able to control an asshat that is making a show.
Then they aren't much of a manager. But you are going to be able to stop an asshat from being an asshat? What are you going to do?

"Please be more quiet and respectful. I have my wife here and you're being offensive."

"Get Stuffed"

"OK, please come outside so I can pummel your ass into next week."

??

And the restaurant analogy isn't the same. In the original situation, your dealing with someone in a car that is irresponsible and unreasonable who feels empowered because they are safe in a vehicle. Do you really want to screw with a nutjob in a 5000# projectile? The girl felt safe in her vehicle, so she felt like she could impose her will on the little man which just fanned the flames.

Basically it was like her poking a lion with a pointy stick and then sending the lion out into a room with the general public. In this case it was just lucky that the guy didn't hurt anyone else. She should have taken the high ground and let this guy go on about his way. Who says that she gets to decide what's reasonable for anyone else that she chooses?

This long row of trucks blocking her that she talks about is bull. Yes, there were a few trucks, but there were at least two periods during the video when she could've easily moved over. She didn't. She never intended to.

And yes, I am making assumptions, but I've been around plenty of people in my 50 years of life to call bull**** when I see it.

Again, just in case I'm not being clear on this: he's an idiot who got what he had coming to him. However, her antics greatly contributed to the final outcome. Her righteousness helped trigger his road rage that eventually caused him to crash his truck.
ding, ding, ding, we have a winner.

She probably didn't see the openings because she was too busy watching her phone while making her video. She should get a ticket for reckless driving.

True justice would have been idiot boy losing control and taking traffic enforcer with him.

Two tools with different purposes.

Village idiots from adjoining villages.

Mo and Ron going for a drive together.

You get the point.

No, actually, I get very frustrated with left lane parkers, but I'm calling it as I see it. Luckily, we have video to judge, and she was kind enough to show her speedo, which showed she was actually exceeding the speed limit for the conditions, and remaining very calm under the circumstances. She simply filmed an idiot losing his cool, followed by his talent. She did absolutely nothing wrong that is evident in the video, and that's why the idiot was charged, and not her.

This local to me...If she thought the conditions were bad enough that she can't go faster, she should have just gotten out of the damn way.

She's just like that movie texter. Not technically doing anything wrong, but the still choose to exacerbate the situation and make it worse.

How comical the silly **** thinks she's not an idiot for filming the whole thing.

True justice would be her rear ending someone as she's laughing about the other guy wrecking.

Can we change it to a light pole or tree or shrub or something, so no one else has to be involved in the stupidity? I like the idea though.

Yes, you are right, that would be a better ending.

Let's make it a bunch of shrubs with soft dirt that scratches the heck out of her car but cause no injury.

Anyone think of the line of thought if the accident would of caused death?

"Local woman taunts man while driving, accident fatal, woman charged with ......"

Same old thing of power behind a wheel when if they actually had power over their own lives none of the stupidity on either side would of happened.

That's right up there with the guy who says its not his fault that he beats his wife. He wouldn't lose his temper if she didn't do things to make him mad...

If the person is threatening to harm you, a stern warning from the manager will certainly control the situation. But I have a right to be in control of my own safety

in this case, by doing what? having a control issue and making the guy play by your rules?

Read up on the Second Amendment to the Constitution of the US (or is actively defending yourself having control issues?

Let's use your logic and turn the tables. Its NOT HER FAULT. IF the asshat in the truck hadn't tailgated her, he wouldn't have CAUSED HER to anger him by staying in the left lane (which you can't prove by me she did on purpose so we'll have to agree to disagree on that one) and cause him to drive like an idiot!
