Felt it down here. Quick jolt, a little creaking, and some good swinging of our hanging fixtures. Woke the dog and cat, but the wife snoozed on.

I thought it was the wife coming home and slamming the front door (it sticks sometimes). No one there... shrugged and went back to what I was doing. I did start wondering if I was losing it and hearing things that aren't there. Those faults seem to be tossing and turning these last few weeks, could be getting ready to wake up!!!!

Felt it in Palmdale. At work. Immediately had to stop landing aircraft for LAX, ONT, PSP, etc arrivals. Lots of holding for a few minutes until they could check the runways for damage.

Might be a good thing...?
A bunch of little ones are better than the big one.

Kinda sorta... It can go either way. These have been 40 roughly in the same area so far tonight. One 5.1, two 3.6's, and the rest are under 3.0. The little ones could easy pressure on the fault lines located there, but could also stress others in the region. The small ones could also trigger a big one there or elsewhere around the region.

I think most of would like to think that a bunch of small ones ease pressure and put the big one even longer...

Here's a screen grab of what's going on...

The red lines are fault lines.

Here's a great link for those of us in SoCal to get an idea of how many quakes there are each day. Recent Earthquakes for Los_Angeles

Hint: there have been 39 quakes since the jolt @9:11pm, and it's only been two hours!

Here's the greater L.A. area... We're so effed!

The two lone ones on the left are 2 miles from where I live.

My thoughts too about earthquakes. A well greased fault line.

I'm at the harbor-brea Y. It shook east to west pretty hard. Only damage was a few pictures down and a couple cabinet doors opened
