That was directed at those who were brushing off the tragedy as no big deal and bragging about it here. You included yourself in my message and took it personal. Your choice. Btw, I'm as direct as they come. And remind me who said it could be prevented? I never said that, not once. What you're doing is a "turn." You're off topic clinging to a point no one is arguing because you think you could muddy a very clear discussion. Your solution to this problem is that nothing can be done. Well, if mankind had your attitude to such an important issue we'd all be cavemen dragging our women looking for fire because we wouldn't know how to make it ourselves. The problem is the problem. Solutions move us forward. Carry on with your "turn." |
As I said earlier, one of the few bright spots is the attacker is still alive. My hope is both police and doctors will be able to learn more about what sets people off on these sprees when working with this kid.

A couple of weeks after the NewTown tragedy my 6-year-old came home and I asked her how her day was. She said they did a drill to hide in the classroom closets in case someone was "attacking" them. She then said all the kids hid in the closet and covered their heads with their hands. Only one problem she said - the closets didn't have doors and no one felt safe. New school, contemporary class design. Within a couple of months all classrooms had doors with deadbolts that can be locked.
Something can always be done to minimize danger in the event of the unknown. |
