When did they started blipping out "God" on TV?
I was watching a bit of TV this afternoon and notice the "Oh My God" or anything that has the word God in it was blipped put. But b!tch or many other bad words are OK to air. I suppose this is the new America? Now, I am not religious and really don't care, but found it strange and wanted to see if any of you noticed it.

If followed by "Damn" in the original movie, it's been like that a while.

no, no damn

Being Christian is no longer pc. Sorry, but we are quickly approaching minority. Sad times.

Before anyone jumps all over this as some kind of pc change, it would help to know the exact program being watched, channel it was on, and the time of day. Honestly, I have not experienced anything of the sort. Not saying it didn't happen, but it seems to be an aberration.
BTW, just for context, as a long ago TV watcher, it was much more common to delete the word " God" from programming due to fear of using His name in vain, not out of fear of offending non-religious viewers. |
I sometimes edit movies for networks and I've never had to do that.
And this is coming from someone currently editing out all mentions of the word s--- and ball grabbing scenes out of Honeymoon in Vegas. |
Why are the fart sounds edited out from "Blazing Saddles"?

At my granddaughter's school they are asking parents to try to get their girls out of the habit of saying, "Oh My God," all the time. The phrase prefaces nearly every sentence among these 12-13 year old girls. "Oh My God that's a cute sweater," "Oh My God my teacher's mean." It's an epidemic. This may be part of that effort. |

Weird did you get a bootleg DVD? I heard once that one of the big church networks had different versions of movies for rent with very slight edits... sounds like you got the TV version though.

If you got a version all cut up it must be the broadcast TV version. It would be a 10 minute movie if you edited out all the racial slurs and off color jokes. |
I don't understand why its not ok to say **** and it is ok to say crap.
Ok - yeah, the Norman's conquered England and **** is Germanic rather than norman/french. But...this the USA, made up of many cultures, languages, and peoples? Why is this still carrying over from medieval times? |
Crap is short for Crapper. Thomas Crapper made a commode.
