Thumbs up Aymeric bring you his French touch, be careful guys !

Hi everybody

First of all a little presentation, I'm French, from Northern France and here to share about a common passion but to perfect my English too ! So I'm not bilingual and never hesitate to correct me

Why this thread ? I want to share with you pictures, videos, anecdotes, knowledge about Porsche

One side I work my English and an other side I share my passion and sure it permits me to show how French are better that American

I'll post once per day, week sometimes month I don't know, more this thread is popular more I post

Well with this first message I want to bring you something amazing !

Do you know Walter Röhrl ?

Quickly he was a famous actor in group B (rallye) with his Audi Quattro next to Vatanen with the 205 Turbo 16.

Well he's one of the best pilot in the world and one thing not everybody know is that he's now test driver for Porsche. No Porsche can be produced without his agreement !

But that's not yet what I want to bring you, be careful it's really amazing !

One day Walter Rörl was testing, as often, a car of another firm: a Ferrari 599 GTB on the Nurb'. It's normal and others firms do that, after, the car bought as if it was for a normal client, is removed piece per piece. So our famous pilot surveys the Nurb' and meter per meter catchs up a black car, an other 599 GTB ! Walter sticks the car until a falt by the other pilot and continues his road.

At the end of the lap, the black GTB place up to the height of Walter and down his window. The driver was Michael Schumacher !

Do you want following of this story ?

Flollowing:

Shumacher was very very angry and say to Rohrl he has overtaked him in a very dangerous place ! Walter answered immidiately that the thing dangerous was to take the rope (I'm not sure of this word) where he took because here, there is a very little bump, invisible, which relieve the front of the car and imbalance it before add must have a good knowledge of this track to know that...

I hope it's comprehensible, there must be lots of faults, sorry

Great story (so far). Keep it up. And, as a newbie here, you really need to post a picture of your car, and any nice French dishes you care to share with us...and I don't mean food!

Great post.

Most of us Porsche fans know of Walter Röhrl. We have seen the videos of him on the Ring driving a GT3. I would love to have him drive my car to set a benchmark for me to match. I suspect it would be humbling on my part to see how much slower I am than Walter Röhrl.

Great post. The French to English writing style makes it even more enjoyable to read. I can almost hear the accent.

A great contrast to ODDJOB. I believe English is his first language, but his posts are largely incomprehensible. I imagine his 3rd grade teacher returning his papers covered in red ink.

Welcome aymericv59!

We welcome all peoples from all over the globe, Er... I think.
Anyway, this is a good section to make friends, but you'll have to go to PARF if you want to influence people. :-)

Are you offended if people call you froggy? We used to have a froggy, but I haven't seen him post in a while.

Cheers!

Oh my god, so many replies And how welcome you all are

I think you're rather cool with my English which is far from perfect ahah

First I think I can give you the end of the story !

Do you know Walter Röhrl ?

Walter Rohrl just ridiculise world champion, by 7 times...

Petite grenouille.

An American nickname for a Frenchman. Based on an outdated American stereotype of the French eating frog legs.

Legerement offensive, but used here as a welcoming gesture.
