Ink Jet Cartridge Refills (where do you buy yours from?)

Okay, this was covered once but that was over 2 years ago so things have probably changed. My ink is running dry (HP 7410 which uses HP96 and HP97 cartridges) and I refuse to pay hefty sums for new cartridges. The popular online auction site has them as cheap as $6 shipped and that's for 1 each of black and color. However, it sounds too good to be true and I don't really want them exploding in my printer anyway.

Any suggestions? Cheap is good. Exploding ink cartridges is bad. Hopefully I can find something somewhere in between. If anyone can answer this question, I know you all can.

Thanks!!

I buy generics from inkjetsuperstore.ca. They are as good as OEM IMHO. They have a US store as well.

Continuous ink system (cis) off eBay. When the tanks start to get low, fill them up. Chips in the cartridge auto reset levels when printer is turned on. I think I have a liter of 6 different colors, that cost less then one epson cartridge.

I prefer the ink cartridges because every time you get a new ink cartridge, you also get a new printer head.

Thanks for Posting Ian, very reasonable prices and as I am running low on ink now an order is in the works.

Bought an HP Officejet (wireless, autofeed scanner/copier,etc.) at the Mart of year or so ago for 50% off and was happy with it until I realized a set of replacement HP cartridges at the mart cost more than I paid for the printer! The old razor marketing strategy, give away the razors but just wait til you have to buy cartridges...

and I have not had good luck in the past with refilled cartridges.

Once you are on their email list . . . watch for specials. I just received an order & got free shipping. They now have a $10 off code: CASH10 until April 27th which you might be able to use. I have 2 printers: an HP & a Brother. The HP is my photo-quality & the cheapo Brother is my home office scanner/printer work horse.

When I print pictures, I like the OE cartridges. I have a Canon printer. I buy from Staples.

I checked a few weeks ago and the Brother Color Laser printers (HL-3140) started around $250 if I remember correctly. The replacement toner can be found on amazon for around $120.

The mono Brother Lasers are even less expensive.
