I have bought whole working campi bikes for less then that

current ride is a screwed and glued alloy alan with campi shifters
but old style side pull campi brakes

yes I know your brakes are an odd collector item well worth your asking price
good luck with them

These are cool. They came in a few different versions and configs.
From memory the early ones had an unusual 2.5mm (or was it 3.5mm?) Allen head bolt to secure the cable inside.

They're aerodynamically "cleaner" than traditional brakes but they do weight a little bit more.
Because of this they were often used for time trial bikes.

$350USD is the right sort of money for these.
The "Record" version (hidden springs at the rear) can go for upwards of $650 USD depending on condition. A full set new in the box? Over a grand easy.

Not that long ago I saw a pair of "black" prototypes in a Melbourne bike shop. Asking $5,550AUD just the brakes... No levers, cables, pads or box.

If they were mine I'd be hanging onto them.

Vintage bike parts are now in the stupid money territory. Like an early 911 tool kit.

Here's a story to make you bike guys cry. I saw on CL a couple of years ago a 54cm Atala lugged-frame bike with a bunch of old Campy Record stuff hanging on it. Well, me being a 56cm bike kind of guy, passed up this bike at $150. You know, because it didn't fit me.

The light didn't come on until six months later.

Yeah, but no fun buying something just to hang on to because you can't ride it. Nothing worst them having to wait for the right buyer.

Aerodynamically speaking, I am not sure how much of a advantage will these big-o-brakes have over the little side pull ones? I bet there's no real difference but wait penalty more wind block due to its size. I don't know why Campy coma out with them in the first place?

You're probably right but often gaining any physiological advantage in cycling is worth it and yes they're different but they are so "Campagnolo".

Interestingly Shimano brought out their version of "center pulls". I know which I'd rather have.

I've got a full Campy CdA group that I've hung on a Vitus 979 frame which is my road bike. I recall paying somewhere around $900 for the lot, including wheels, maybe 5 years ago. The kit was virtually brand new. Was mounted on a frame, but then looks to be never used.

these things are jewelry. I'd be the first to admit that campy stuff from this era maybe doesn't work as precisely as shimano, but damn the stuff is beautifully finished. They simply don't make things like this anymore. I have read that these Delta brakes have some advantages when you're riding in a large peloton. They do have a very progressive feel. And yes, it's a off-sized hex key you need to tighten the cable pinch bolt.

I don't know why everyone makes a big deal about the hex-at the time is was hard to find but today its in every Harbor Freight complete set-it 3.5mm. The real pain is getting the cable length right because you can't get cutters in there.

The brakes themselves are simply beautiful. No functional advantage though, the weight offsets any "aero" benefit, and while very effective as "speed modulators" they don't stop well. Those Shimano AX brakes are rare birds and highly sought after.

There is an SAE allen that fits fine.....I always laugh when I see the Campy 3.5mm wrench being offered for big bucks. Doesn't even have a logo on it.
