homeless guy set up camp in a field about half a mile down the road. worked on his truck for a day or so. and then disappeared. somebody already came and scavenged the pickup. parts are parts to my neighbors. but he left a tent and a ton of crap behind. after a week the girlfriend nagged me into cleaning it up.

from the looks of things he tossed his radiator, front grill and most of his tools in the fire before taking off. took better part of an hour to clean it, and there's still aluminum slag melted into the ground everywhere.

i left los angeles to get away from **** like this.

I think it's more likely destitute and hopeless. And possibly mental illness.

It is sad to think someone got to that point.

I know you live in the sticks, but why didn't anybody call the law? I know we sure would have in the rural area where I grew up. Then you wouldn't have cleaned up a crime scene...
