Why I Hate People
 

Vet tells you your dog is terminal.

Recommends you euthanize.

You give permission.

You cry, your kids cry, everyone cries.

6 months later a tech from the vets office calls you and tells you your dog is alive, being kept in a cage and being used as a blood donor.

You run down there and sure as ****, there's your dog, alive, not all that well being kept in a cage for 6 months and bled dry, but alive.

That's why you stay with your dog when you put it down.

you can't run far enough or fast enough, and it wouldn't be quick

As painful as it has been I have stayed with every one of my pets.

I owe them that much as they have given me so much.

But I can understand how some people can not go through it.

I don't fault the owners.

Their trust was betrayed.

That's what I do but not for that reason, it's to be there for your friend. Sad to think you need to be there to make sure they put the pet down, why would a vet do that? Glad to hear the owners got the dog back.

That's why you get a second, third, fourth, fifth, sixth opinion before that dreaded decision is made.

Then you stay with your companion until the end.

There would be a transference of pain .......

This is why I love some people

Serious lawsuit followed by a slow skinning of the vet.

Sad commentary on what this world has become.

My dear friend was recently advised that it was time to put her beloved cat down. It never, ever crossed the minds of anyone involved not to be there.

One of the saddest and most loving things I've ever witnessed.

True but he's also been tortured by being locked in a cage! That's just wrong... The dog gets no say in it.

You could never legally do that to a person so why is it OK to do that to a dog?

That vet needs a severe ass kicking. And a big lawsuit. And lose his license. What a piece of filth.

It would take every person on this forum to hold me back from pummeling that vet, if that was my dog.

You should see how people treat people.

The vet came to our house and I dug the hole and buried our dog myself. Not that I don't trust our vet, but it was a nice gesture.

Yup, but it is more for the dog than to prevent any shenanigans.

I would kidnap that vet and take at least a year to finish him off. He best go into the witness protection program, or someone else will do that POS.

Anyways, the vet is done. License soon gone.

Apparently not an isolated case.

Article says he had one dog in a cage for 3 years.

His own personal pet was in such bad shape it had to be euthanized.

And the article says some of his patients are going to testify for him? WTF!

That is being too kind!...even a pig deserves more compassion than this gentleman!

After reading this story I sat on the couch with my dog very close by my side...I can't imagine what that family went through!

I hope that POS spends the rest of his life in prison getting transfusions.

WTF is with the employees who let this go on for years? Surely they had to know about it. Some of them belong in jail, I bet.

What a story, I think I would have knocked that Vets head off. Only once have I had to put a dog down and it sucked.

Sick part is this might not even be a crime. I'm fairly certain in a lot of states companion animals are still considered merely property.

Laws need to change to reflect how much we value the animal members of our families.

He's already been charged with cruelty to animals. I'm sure they can hang fraud on him as well.

Smells like a big fat lawsuit against the veterinarian. That will teach him and his colleges.

Was just about the second thought that came to my mind is there is no way the employees didn't know what the eff was going on..............:mad:

I talked with my mom last night about this, when I was very young she was a vet assistant. She doesn't recall anyone not staying when their dog was put down.

I hope the vet is completely ruined over this. My guess is the laws aren't tough enough though.

There were a lot of real animal lovers with me in vet school, but there were a few that should not have been there.

This guy is toast one way or another.

Is that veterinarian by any chance one that comes from industrial animal operations? He seems to have that kind of mindset.

We have had to put down three of our dogs. All due to cancer of some kind. We were there with them as they crossed onto the other side. They were always there for us. Why shouldn't we be there for them in the end?
This guy should have his testicles beaten flat with a shovel.

I wish people would care about other humans as much as they care about their pets.
