Do I Know How to Waste Time or What?

Yesterday, a rainy dreary day, I completed the last level of Epic Rail.

Epic Rail - Play it on Not Doppler

I did not know it, but the game kept a record of profligacy.

LOL if i added up all the hours I've spent playing doom, doom II, ultimate doom, final doom, heretic, heretic II, hexen, quake ....... it'd prolly be in the decades!

But hey, we could have been doing something even worse!

I still play quake... 20 years after its release... and there are still servers out there with players

May want to check out Xonotic as well. Very QuakeWorld feel to it, esp. the minsta+hook CTF servers

Me too ...
I played all Heretic, Doom, Quake-releases, but stopped when Unreal was released.
I also still play Quake, but never online.

So.... should I set up a pelican quakeworld server on my web host? Perhaps we could organize a Friday night CTF match?

Team Fortress 2 is similar (and still free I believe with a steam account) but I don't play it often nor do we play Quake very often.

We still do a LAN party now and then. Big furballs in Wings over Europe or the Battlefield series. Nothing like hearing the 15 year old kid at another table blurt out "I just got owned by a 4 year old" while playing the Iranian Embassy siege. The Who Dares Wins mod does a bunch of post Viet Nam missions and are great for smaller groups.

I played Doom for days. I was so addicted I'm afraid to go back to it.

I use a doomsday engine to convert, graphics are whole lot better than original.
Gonna hafta check out that quakeworld thing.

OH, this is cool. I was playing final doom the other day for the millionth time, and noticed i had two versions on it. The TNT version and also one called evolution. Never seen that one before!

So last weeked I spent about 6 hours rushing through the whole thing.
This weekend I'm gonna take my time ....

I remember getting my first shareware version of doom, cost $5 and it was on 4 floppies. took forever to load 'cause that game was HUGE!

I'm just worried about there being a record of the fact that I've caused death or injury to 297,029 people with a train. I hope this doesn't come up in any job interviews.

Well if you want to get a job in SE Asia it may be a benefit.

Calvin is a habitual Team Fortress 2 player, as well as a few other RTS games. I don't play any games, which is a bit odd since I've designed a number of them for training. My son is my market researcher...

I love racing and flying and since I don't get the opportunity to do it very often I get my hits virtually. More so in the winter than the summer. Too many things going on outside in the summer.
