anyone have an outdoor TV?

On and off I have thought of installing an outdoor TV so I could be on the deck and watch. Always wondered about bringing it in from the elements and such. At the Nats game last week I saw they had flat panel TVs with a cozy to keep them dry/clean when the game isn't on.
I know a lot of you all are in nice climates...have any experience in this?

I have one in our outside kitchen. We don't get snow, but it does get cold now and then. It is mounted to the wall and has a cover that slips over it to protect it.

I think I need to move. It hasn't reached seventy degrees since last October.

I installed a flat screen in a room with my hot tub, room is unheated and see's
-30C more than once and then gets filled with steam when the lid is off.
It's been there for at least 3 years and no issues yet.

What's your budget?

This company was beside us at Cedia (custom/design CE show) last year. A Porsche Design Studio design. A statuesque blonde with some dude. They claim that they have sold quite a number of these:

Btw you can buy a good Ferrari for the price of one of these.

I have a regular flat screen mounted outside. It's just an LCD Sony or something.
I made an alcove for it in the stucco wall, like you see in interior applications, and it is under an eave.
Other than that we don't do anything, we don't cover it or move it when it rains. In it's location it doesn't get wet.

Have Vizio sitting outside in a cabinet year round.

No issues.

I've been asked by my daughters BF to build something to house his outside TV.
It will be something like this but I have to free up some time to get it done.

I hope you can see this well enough. It's actually in front of a restaurant in town.
The TV also has an articulated arm behind it so it can be pulled out and angled.

How hard is it to make a box with a lid?

I looked at doing something like this a few years ago when I was building my roofdeck, though I was very specifically looking for something I could wall mount on brick. Surprisingly little in terms of products... options ranged from cabinets built to protrct electonics in factory environments ($$$$) or tiny tvs meant to be installed so you can watch in your shower ($$$$) and not much in between.

Totally. Think about your neighbors before you do this.
