The special items (tail, sport seats, etc.) have value on a (6/10) car, but much less on a (2/10) car.

And, in the removal of the cool bits you will just have a 1974 Carrera that you will easily spend over $20K on even as a wrench. And you'll end up with $20K sellable car on the very best of days.

If that car is rotten? It's done IMO.

You could buy a same year car in almost perfect condition for for less money than the repair costs of that one.
If you want to invest in a classic car it would be much smarter to buy a clean original car.

Now if it was a 73RS then yes it's worth saving but were would you even begin?

True and I hate to be negative but they may be corroded to the hubs and any attempt to get them off with force may destroy them.

I hope it works out OK.

Again with the negative waves Moriarity? Why don't you knock it off with them negative waves? Why don't you dig how beautiful it is out here? Why don't you say something righteous and hopeful for a change?

Maybe little fire on those hubs if they are doing the metallurgical equivalent of the Vulcan mind meld with the wheels, might just pop off with a bit of kroil and rubber mallet though.

Are you sure that is a 74? I thought the 74 US Carrera had a duck not a whale tale (75).

It does have some interesting looking bits in there if you decide to part it out.

I found an interesting article when one of my neighbors bought a 74 Carrera out of the states.

Man I love seeing cars come out the woodwork. I'm sure there are hundreds of guys out there that would love to save that car. Great find and a great story.
