Finally got the Porsche moved to AZ and up in the mountains!

After a few months of being Porsche less I finally got the Porsche out here and Tweeze and I took a little drive up Hwy 88 to Canyon lake and beyond to where it turned to dirt. Fun little road and the stretch past the lake was low traffic and some nice tight 10 and 15mph curves. The little wasser pumper dispatched them with ease!

I'll get a few more pics off her phone later, but here's a few. Very cool little lake, we are going to have to go back up and rent a boat or some jet skis later this year for sure!

Thanks bill! There are some really pretty parts of AZ. I'm still stunned at how pretty this state is and how much it changes region to region.

Pardon the blurriness of Tweeze's pics, some lunatic wouldn't slow down much for photo ops!

LOL, good to hear you two are having lots of fun.

I'm loving that sun scorched landscape look. One of these days...

Edit: Take care with the ralley car driving on those gravel roads LOL 944 parts may be a day or two away when you are out in the desert.

I was on paved roads, that's just a gravel pullout. . A lowered autocross prepped car doesn't handle gravel well at all

As you know Sid, I took Power Rd out to Sagaro lake when I was there. Fantastic drive and a simply beautiful lake. Best of all, you can be within a few minutes of Phoenix but see no sign of the city. I definitely wish I had been in my 996 instead of a rental Mustang. If I end up out there, I may know someone with a boat......

My original plan was to go out to Sag, but I saw how curvy 88 looked on google maps so I decided we would head for roosevelt instead. What google maps didn't point out was the 22mi dirt section, which sadly looks like it has some killer curves? Rally stage maybe? Needless to say I didn't try that in the 944.

And yes I had the thought about your knowing someone with a boat, then I thought of having to buy all the beer for the day and it might be cheaper just to rent my own. Seriously though that would be fun, we just gotta get the little one to learn to swim!

It certainly does vash! The freon is a touch low, but it'll run you out of the car once you top it off.

I know someone local who has R12 if you need it.

You're going to have to take it up to Jerome, and the back road to Prescott. And definitely south mountain!

We returned from an enjoyable trip to Arizona a few weeks ago.

I wrote a small account on my blog, and included some pictures. It is truly a beautiful part of the world. Both my wife and I each said, "I could live here," and we meant it.

Unfortunately that's not a live link to my blog below, but you can just copy and paste it into your browser.

P.S. Of course we visited Jerome!

Great pics, Sid! It's nice to have your well set-up baby out there with you, isn't it?

Ya I will definitely be taking some longer trips, maybe we could do a group drive in the fall?

And yes I need R12. Will they sell it for a reasonable price? There is a quite a bit on craigslist but they want $40/can.

Just have to be selective about your roads, not a ton of the speed camera still up, and the nice thing is that they are stationary!
